Recently every game on the market has looked like utter -blam!-. Halo 4 has armor abilities the totally get rid of balance in the game, Gears of War: J has no downing in multiplayer mode, you spawn with nades, and can only pick a rifle/shotgun and have your snub pistol. Maps are not symmetrical anymore.
I don't understand why game developers don't realize that no body makes CoD better than the CoD developers.
Did copying CoD bring in the sales for Halo 4? Or did Halo lose some of its fanbase? I for one stopped playing Halo 4 a week after launch. And with what I am seeing with judgment, I am not going to buy it.
Everything is becoming a casual fest now, and the concept of practicing to increase your skill is becoming more and more obsolete.

They should probably have learned by now that trying to copy CoD has never and will never work.

Well you understand what I am trying to prove. Halo 4 has load outs and perks. Which in essence makes it very similar to CoD.

I think people are still in denial that the features in Halo 4 weren't designed to be similar to CoD.

You're right, the logic that they are purposely copying the most popular game on the market is just silly..

So are you saying that load outs and perks are not CoD like?
My argument isn't the best, but everyone here regardless knows that 343 blatantly mimicked CoD.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

Halo has vehicles. Call of duty does not.

Halo has armor abilities. Call of duty does not.

Halo has Master Chief. Call of duty does not.

Load-outs only allow basic assault rifles in Halo 4. Call of duty load-outs have shotguns, snipers, ext....

CoD copied Halo by including guns.

Those things have obviously been brought in to try and tempt the COD fanbase, but that in no way makes the game play like COD and if you think Halo 4 does play like COD you are a massively blind hater. But then again, I already knew that.

That's the point though. There have been a lot of other games that have tried to throw in the same type of features to try and get some CoD fans. It never works, so I don't understand why they keep doing it.

They have to change the game some how I suppose, Halo 4 would have even less players if it was just the same game from Halo 3.

Hard to say what would have happened in hindsight. It's all speculation now.

CoD doesn't really change much because it doesn't need to, they have a solid gameplay that people enjoy. They make all the right changes to keep fans interested.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I know this is a thinly disguised troll thread about Halo 4 being equal to Call of Duty, but it does bring up an interesting question. What would you replace these features with?

As games become more complex, wouldn't Halo get left behind if it didn't add new elements? And if not the ones on other shooters, then which? Maybe Cll of Duty crammed in every conceivable feature, and dev's have to use those because there is nothing left.

Just a thought.

It did with Halo 4, and Halo 4's population is still pretty healthy, and please don't pull that Halocharts thing(because it doesn't show the total population, it shows War Games: Matchmaking PEAK population, and IT DOES NOT SHOW THE PLAYER POPULATION WITHIN 24 HOURS). Now I know Halo 4 didn't copy CoD, but I think it did have a little inspiration from it. And a lot of people (who are NOT the flood or Waypoint) like these changes a lot.
