The War Z was literally just removed from Steam. Today is a good day.

Developers apologise to players who 'misread' Steam information.

"Right now it is raining methane on Titan. The planet Uranus is, hilariously, orbiting the sun sideways while Venus spins backwards. We sit here on a planet marked with collisions, rocked by earthquakes, shaken by storms. A planet doomed to be fried in radiation as its magnetic fields collapse, until the sun grows and leaves nothing of the earth but dust. Here we sit, glasses on our noses, inhalers in our pockets, braces on our teeth, and we say "Behold the perfect ORDER of it all!""

Because you can't just not buy it.

Proud Spartan II, COG soldier, Hero of time, and crowbar wielding scientist.

I'm not entirely sure what to think of this.
I know it had false advertising, but was it good?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Everyone who bought it should get a refund and we have to make sure no one else ever falls for this scam again.

What an embarrassment, to have your game removed for steam because you lied.

If valve let this slip there would be mountains upon mountains of developers doing false advertising...

Any service that would allow a misleading product to be distributed through itself would have its own legitimacy thrown into question. Valve did the right thing.

I think store credit for Steam would be more acceptable. I'd rather spend my money on another game.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

If I buy an ice cream maker and instead of an ice cream maker inside it is just a heavy chunk of metal, should I just've not bought it despite it clearly saying there was an ice cream maker inside?

It's ridiculous that they even let the game onto Steam in the first place. It's almost as if they didn't even look at the game before putting it on and just threw it on there.

Actually the game got in through greenlight. Hell, even I voted the game up. So really it was us, the steam community that got war Z up there.

I don't really understand any of this. Could someone please fill me in?

They made a bunch of claims of "here's what's in the came and what you can do" that were blatantly false. People are upset and want their money back. I'm assuming Valve pulled it from Steam until refunds are issued to avoid any more problems.

Ok thanks.

There wouldn't have been a problem had they made it free, said it was an alpha version, and not lied about everything. They probably would've gotten a lot more positive feedback and ways to fix flaws that way as well. They -blam!- up pretty hardcore.
