This is a sad day indeed...Metro: Last Light, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Company of Heroes 2 may never see the light of day...even in spite of THQ's efforts.

OP is apparently unfamiliar with Chapter 11.

THQ emphasized that this bankruptcy will not affect any of the games they currently have in production, a library that includes Metro: Last Light, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Homefront II.

OP do you even bother reading articles, or do you just knee jerk react and then post?

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Ch. 11 is not liquidation, just restructuring. They will still exist as an entity.

I wonder if that Floodian who recommended buying THQ shares a few weeks ago during Humble Bundle actually did it.

I'd LOL because the shares are delisted and considered to have no value after a Chapter 11 filing.

OP needs to read.

A lot of people misunderstand what bankruptcy means. There's a wide variety of forms of bankruptcy, some meaning certain things above others. Chapter 11 just makes the company restructure. Basically THQ is saying they can't pay off their debts, so they need some protection from defaulting and having their finances really hitting the fan. Will there be some changes to the company? Undoubtedly. Change does not mean the company is disappearing.

I was going to post a thread a few days ago asking if they were going bankrupt cause they had sales on most of their new games on all the main gaming platforms like Xbox live, Steam, PSN and even the Microsoft store.

This is why people should know what they're talking about before offering their ideas to others. On the off chance someone actually staked a claim in THQ recently, I will feel very bad for them.

Time to learn the Flood some business:

Ch 7 bankruptcy: Company or personal property is liquidated to pay off their debts. This is what you generally think of when you hear 'bankruptcy'

Ch 11 bankruptcy: temporary relief of debts to give a company time for reorganization/restructuring to work out a payment plan for their debts

Ch 13 bankruptcy: Individual option for paying off debts in 3-5 years

So basically, this ain't no biggie.
