Subject: What was your opinion of Halo: Reach?

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

It is extremely fun if you have friends to play it with. There is nothing funner than paying Invasion with a few buddies.

I think that might be the only thing I miss about Reach. That and BTB Elite Slayer.

The Focus Rifle is my baby <3

Compared to previous Halos I thought it wasn't particularly good, compared to Halo 4 It's great. Pretending that no other Halos had been made it was a good game.

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

Halo Reach is an awesome game. Pretty similar to Halo 3.

Halo 4 is what you'd call bad.

It's not as good as the original trilogy of Halo games...... but ever since H4 came out I've gone back to playing Reach and have been having a blast.

The Banshee is still way overpowered, armor lock is still annoying, but the rest of the game is really good. Pretty well balanced. And FUN.

H4 just never made me feel anything at all. I just felt completely blank whilst playing it. I do get annoyed with Reach but at least it makes me feel something.

But it do.

I never thought it was bad.

It is my favorite Halo. It is a very complete package that was very friendly to custom stuff.

I just had a lot of fun screwing around on Infection teamkilling between me and my friends.

BTB was fun, too.

But that was the thing; Reach wasn't super seriously competitive and I am not super seriously competitive.

My third montage!

Once all the gimmicky elements were stripped away there was a decent game under there.

Despite the downsides to it, it was overall a good Halo game. I had a lot of fun playing it, regardless of what people have to say about it.

Really enjoyed it, except for -blam!- on the canon and reticle bloom.

"If you want to test a man's character, give him power" -- Abraham Lincoln

Honestly, one of my favorite games of all time.

I think I actually preferred vanilla reach. It only seemed broken to me after the TU

NON FACET NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERNǢUM

I loved it! My favorite game of the series. Second only to ODST, IMO.

Ew, my username. :C

I came up with it when I was 10.

It was playable.

Meh. TU made is slightly better.

The highest reward for a man's toil is not what he gets for it but what he becomes by it.

“You don't have to be a "person of influence" to be influential. In fact, the most influential people in my life are probably not even aware of the things they've taught me.”- Scott Adams

"Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish."
-Albert Einstein

The story of the campaign was lacking the punch needed for humanities most populated world being wiped out, I didn't feel like what I was doing was important enough.

I greatly enjoyed the multiplayer, as I always do with Halo games, it was very fun.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Compared to Halo CE - Halo 3, it was awful.

It's 'good'.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

My problems with it:
Both:
-Sprint should have been default.

-Focus Rifle: That is one of the most useless weapons I used in a video game. The only thing it was really designed to do was lower shield. The only time it's useful is when you have infinite ammo in Firefight.

-Plasma Repeater: It's just about as useless as the Focus Rifle. There was no point of having it when the Plasma Rifle is pretty much the same thing, but more powerful.
_______________________
Campaign:
-The AI was completely useless. They couldn't drive or kill. If I let the AI drive I'm dead. If I let them gun I'm dead. Jun has this thing called a sniper rifle which is used at long distances. But he uses it at shotgun range.

-I know the games override the books. But I do not like how the game took a giant -blam!- on the Fall of Reach novel. It's sad they had to rewrite the novel and you have to read Halsey's journal for Reach to make sense.

-I hated the story. You had no clear objective at all until you retrieved Cortana near the end of the game. And that's when the game actually gets a plot to it. The only thing you were doing was being Colonel Hollands term for a female dog.
_______________________
Firefight:
It went form a survival/see how long you can go. To a point whoring fest. The majority of the maps are not made for holding up a location. They are made for running around and seeing how many points you can get.
_______________________
Multiplayer:
-The vehicles are made out of something weak, like paper mache...or Raditz...

-Sword block: It's one of the dumbest game mechanics I seen in a game. The Energy Sword is a one hit kill anywhere on the body, but as soon as someone puts their arm up. It magically stops it from killing them.

-The majority of the default multiplayer maps are campaign areas. I don't care that they were designed first and built into the campaign. It's incredible lazy and unoriginal.

-Bloom: It's just one big derp of a system. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a recoil effect that you can control. Like the SMG in Halo 3. If you fired it it traveled up your screen(I believe that's how the DMR was in the beta.) or like the FAL in Black OPS. It's pretty accurate when you paced it, but when you spammed it. The weapon moved all over your screen. Any of those 2 things allows the player to control it and to know where the bullets are ending up, but bloom is completely random. Instead of reducing spam it increased it.

-I like the idea of armor abilities, but Bungie screwed them up:
*Sprint should have been default.

*Armor Lock was one of the worst things you can add to a game.

*The drop shield should have worked like this. It would basically act like AL, but you would deploy the shield instead. Which means you can't move while it's activated.

-The DLC was not wroth buying at all. Anybody that bought them got screwed. They removed the DLC playlist which was the only real way to play on the map pack maps. Having a DLC map come up in the non-DLCplaylist is next to impossible. They should have done what they did with Halo 3. Which was have playlist that required the DLC.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
-Douglas Adams

It was broken.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Better than Halo 4.

  • 12.19.2012 1:42 PM PDT

It was decent, then the TU made it good.

  • 12.19.2012 1:47 PM PDT

Per Audacia Ad Astra

It was awesome, but I didn't get a standard dose of awesome custom games like I did with Halo 3. Exciting campaign and a nice way for Bungie to hand the candle to 343.
