It would be set in the star wars universe during the Jedi Civil war.

There is no goal or story line. Just a galaxy that is taking place around you. You want to get involved in the war? go ahead. If not, it will sort itself out sooner or later. Want to focus on smuggling? Do it, just don't get caught. You want to join up with the Jedi or the Sith? Maybe the Mandalorians? You can do that. Maybe you just want to be a bounty hunter.

Here's the thing though. You have to play as a force sensitive.

So, what is the point? you may be asking yourself. Well, here is the point. Reactions. That's right, I said reactions.

People react to you based on how good you are at whatever it is you choose to do. Are you a good smuggler? Well, maybe you move up through the ranks of your chosen criminal organization. Maybe you get enough funds and manpower under your control to seriously effect the galaxy just by way of doing business and who you choose to do that business with.

You want to be a Jedi? Well, maybe you become powerful enough to get an apprentice. Maybe you can join the council and have a say in the direction of the order.

Same for Sith. You become a Sith Lord and get to call shots that have actual ramifications.

Maybe you don't like either one so you decide to start your own school. Then the game takes on an AC:Brotherhood feel. Maybe your ideology and power become seen as a threat and the Sith or Jedi (maybe both) try to assassinate you.

Basically, the inspiration for this came from one of the most annoying features of rpg's. You basically become the most bada** person to ever walk the earth and the guards still talk sh** to you and refer to you as "milk drinker" (shot at Skyrim, but plenty of games do this). Also, you beat the big bad boss man yet nothing really happened. In my game, there is no big bad evil. Only reactions and ramifications. If your a Sith Lord and you walk into a cantina and want to sit down, the guy on the stool in front of you is going to move his a** because he knows who you are and what you are capable of...and he wants none of it.

It would play like the first KOTOR only more in depth. Space portions would be like those seen in Battle Front 2 except free roam.

Maybe you could even sit down and meditate. Upon doing this you would see a flat line take up the screen that operates kind of like a heart monitor, except every "blip" is a disturbance in the force. As you get closer to the source, the vibration of your controller and intensity of blips increase.

The only problem I see with this game idea would be that the technology may not be there yet.

What do you guys think?

So, basically, The Elder Scrolls: Star Wars Edition?

Why did you click the more button? By accident? Reply is at the bottom...
They call me The Precursor

Sounds a bit like SWTOR to me, but I barely played it anyway.

That... is a really good idea that could have great potential. the thing is it would take so much space on a hard drive and have to be good graphics to really be worth it.

No. Elder Scrolls has you go kill the big evil thing after doing tons of fetch quests all of which culminates in no real effect on any thing.

There is no story or prophecy. You are dropped into a galaxy that is just happening around you. Your job is to come up and get to a point where you are seen as a real power or shot caller.

Thanks. I think you are right though, the technology isn't there yet.

Maybe if they dropped the graphics down to original xbox levels. That would be fine with me, but graphic whores probably wouldn't stand for it.

Pass the controller bro

Bretty good. I love imagining about big concepts like this, but it's heartbreaking knowing that something like this will probably never happen in a video game. Not in a while anyway.

Like you said, one issue is the technology. The second issue is enthusiasm, vision and ambition required for a project like this.

I'm not entirely sure if I dig the idea that everyone would have to be a force-sensitive, but I'd work with it. A ruthless space pirate who secretly knows the ways of the force might be cool. Then again it's no secret if everyone in the game is a force-sensitive.

Anyway I'd love to stay with the thread, but I gotta get some sleep.
