I've been looking into mandolins recently. I really like acoustic-electric instruments for obvious reasons, but there's a really limited supply of acoustic-electric mandolins. So i was wondering what kind of process it would take to get a separate pick up system and attach it to a mandolin.

I've seen some pick up systems designed to be attached to violins and cellos and the like, could one of those be adapted to fit on a mandolin?

I'm sure it can be done, and I know for a fact you can buy an electric mandolin online.

Yeah, you can buy a few but there's a very limited selection. I'm looking for an F-model, and there's only a few electrics of those and they're all a bit out of my price.

Looks like they actually make separate pick up systems for mandolins though, so that should solve the issue.
