I think it means that if you are going to switch jobs, you hold an hour-long media event about it and generally parade around as if you're important.

Foman. What should he do? Should he admit that what he did was wrong? Should he say sorry for all his mistakes? Should he stop listening to his friends? They are his friends!

"if"

I'm a Cleveland Cavs fan myself and that is hilarious. You don't get a media event and a huge contract (who some people are apparently jealous over) for nothing. The guy is an amazing basketball player and for you to imply he isn't important shows just how unintelligent you are.

If the ratings that hour-long media event got are any indication, he is important.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Honestly LeBron did pull a BS move on the way he left. Not telling anyone is bad, but having an hour long special is even worse.

In other words, slightly less important than an average rerun of Friends. Yeah, that guy sure does matter.

How so?

He didn't tell any coach except Miami, leaving the rest hanging.

And if you can name me another player that has had an hour long special signing, I'll admit that I'm wrong.

A) So what? He had no obligations to Cleveland or any other city. He was a free agent. The only mistake he made was apologizing afterward. Maybe he gave Cleveland the cold shoulder in return for them giving him dick to play with when he was at his absolute peak.

B) Implying that it was LeBron and his camp who hatched the idea of an hour-long special shows that you have no idea what you're talking about. ESPN came up with the idea, and in return for LeBron participating they promised not to air any coverage of the Delonte/LeBron's mom scandal (remember how that story was nowhere to be found on any ESPN outlets, and any guest who tried to mention it was immediately silenced?).

Anyone complaining about the event at all is just a dumbass. LeBron and ESPN turned a random Thursday night in July into one of the biggest days ever for NBA fans. What's the problem?

A) Did I say that he had an obligation to Cleveland? No. However, most players at least tell their coach that they are going to leave them and not just leave them hanging.

B) Just because ESPN came up with the idea doesn't mean that LeBron had to agree with it.

Tough. He had no relationship with Byron Scott, he was a new coach brought in shortly before LeBron became a FA.

B) Just because ESPN came up with the idea doesn't mean that LeBron had to agree with it.
Can't you read? If LeBron didn't go along with ESPN's hour-long special, the story about his mom banging his teammate (Delonte West) during his last season in Cleveland would have been all over ESPN, giving it instant credibility in the eyes of your typical sports fan. What kind of fool wouldn't do whatever he could to keep something like that quiet?

Again, the event did no harm, it only transformed a boring midsummer Thursday into one of the most memorable sports dates in recent memory. You're assmad for god knows what reason.

Wow, people are still butthurt about the decision? The Cavs got a future superstar in Kyrie Irving, get over it.

OT: So you either told your employer that you're taking your talents south.

Or you didn't show up when your employer needed you the most.

I don't want to start another account for a digital number that has no true value in ten years.

All I can say is he wanted to win a ring, and Cleveland could not sign another superstar with him. You can't win a ring with Andrew Varejao as your #2.

If anything, blame Dan Gilbert and his cheap -blam!- for not surrounding LeBron with the right talent. (A fatter and slower Shaq isn't enough)

Man shouldn't even be running a NBA team, much less own one.
