you killed poonflip!

the flippiest poon i ever knew!

Troll + Drama Queen = OP

Also, in most of the studies that i have seen, the children already exhibited violent, sociopathic tendencies because of bad parenting and other causes. Violent games are not the root problem.

I've got a fan!

I still find it odd that people don't believe that spending hundreds of hours shooting or otherwise killing people/animals/aliens/etc. in a simulated environment influences behavior in some way.

It just seems like common sense.

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

My stance on this is that who even cares?

Really it depends on the person/environment they grow up in. If anything bad parenting is more to blame than video games.

kids shouldn't be playing violent games it's their parents fault.

Does Mario Kart count as a violent video game? The acrobatics done when hit by a shell in Mario Kart 64 just seems extreme...

I can believe the study but would prefer it rather be untrue.

The Secret Society 95% of activity is me, I could use some help.

The point is that all violent media makes people aggressive, not just video games. Good find though.

True, BUT videogames and media are part of the environment that they grow up in.

I personally don't act aggressive at all, then again I turned away from standard shooters and moved to horror survival and tower defense, there are very few good horror survival games though, which isn't really relevant at all but just putting that out there.

The fact that you're not actually spending hundreds of hours shooting or otherwise killing people/animals/aliens/etc. probably has something to do with it. It may make us more used to violence, but committing acts of violence can only be attributed to there being something wrong with the individual.

I've also heard of a study that proved games provided an outlet. Is that not any less valid?

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

Teenagers who play violent video games over a number of years become more aggressive towards other people as a result, a new study has found.
And how do they not have a clue what they're talking about? Isn't that common sense? The proof is in the headset on Xbox Live...

I kind of always wondered that too. As far as I go, I find it to be a very useful stress reliever and make me an overall happier person.

OT: Besides, weren't teenagers considered to be highly aggressive in the first place?

Okay, but that doesn't mean increasingly violent videogames aren't having an effect on maturing teenagers. It's not the sole factor, but it seems obvious that it's not exactly yoga or meditation.
