I find it hilarious how these people take their video games so seriously. Says a lot about how they live their lives.

No, I have a life outside of video games. No need to get butt hurt that I'm pwning you in this debate

It's not even a debate. I have a source that directly contradicts you.
I have three studies that contradict yours. Here and here and here.

What now?

Nice

Did there parents ever make a point to teach the kids what's real and what's fake? I can tell you that I do not want to kill anyone, and I play Call of Duty, Halo, and many other "violent videogames". A person who wants to kill someone cause he did it in a game is already crazy from the start, a normal person does not do this.

You have one source that contradicts mine. The lad two aren't even addressing the same issue. Learn to read your sources before you post them.
They are addressing the issue of whether or not violent games are bad.

Either way, we both have one source contradicting each other. Are you going to say your source is more important than mine or that your source is fact and mine is not?

OP, you're a dumb ass. You probably only read the titles of the article. If you actually read, you would know that all 3 of his articles contradict yours.

It's a stalemate.

Plus his extra two articles and my evidence, I think we win the debate

It's not really about replication, just desensitization.

I agree, it does desensitize but I highly doubt that desensitization is a leading cause in violence. Someone desensitized would have a better grip over a bloody crime scene, but so does someone with a strong stomach.

Troll + Drama Queen = Rose
Fix'd
Thanx

^This.

OT: I'd be interested to know what video games they used in this experiment. Halo? COD? GTA? Mass Effect? You'd think that there'd be some difference or some attribution to note based on the game they're playing.

Also, we're dealing with VIOLENT video games here, not Super Mario Bros or Forza Motorsport. Even games like Skyrim would be exempt from this study.

I wonder if this is what the "Earn $20 just playing XBOX" pinned papers were about.

Does Mario Kart count as a violent video game? The acrobatics done when hit by a shell in Mario Kart 64 just seems extreme...

I can believe the study but would prefer it rather be untrue.

I don't know man. Tossing the blue shell and having it explode? It's just a little too much.

Does anyone have a link to the published study referenced in the OP?

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

There have been tests that completely fly in that face of this one. Tests that show children who game have higher reflex and reaction times. Tests that show drops in childhood/teenage aggression and violence with more gaming. These things are terrible inconsistent.

Not very much research has been done on the effects of violent video games. I want to know how they compare with other forms of media, like TV or movies.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Posted by: theHurtfulTurkey
I still find it odd that people don't believe that spending hundreds of hours shooting or otherwise killing people/animals/aliens/etc. in a simulated environment influences behavior in some way.

It just seems like common sense.
Well I've played video games all my life, and I'm not violent.
Some situations are just beyond common sense.

OT: For every article going against video games, there can be found probably seven or more that show no link between video games and violence.

4 pages? really flood, you'd think you retards would figure it out by now that all of roses' alt's have the same avatar and any thread made with a user who has said avatar is a troll thread full of the OP closing his/her eyes saying "LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU, YOU'RE STUPID LALALAALALLALA"

Guess it all comes down to who's more credible.
Your link in the OP doesn't even cite the article it's talking about.
