I would have to go with the battle of Kursk as the grandest tank battle of them all.
Wiki because unfortunately i cant post an entire book chapter.
The Battle of Kursk the largest tank battle ever...
3000 German tanks clashed with 5000 Russian in one of the largest battles of the war. Hitler foolishly attacked the prepared Russian defenses (they had know for a good 2 months or so prior so they prepared layers of defense) around the village of Kursk to surround the Russian salient there. The German attack eventually failed and the Wehrmacht would permanently be on the back foot for the rest of the war in the east.
The battle lasted from the 15th of July to the 23rd of August 1943.
