I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

Let's start off by first clarifying that both of these are actual mental issues. Don't even bother posting if the only thing you plan on doing is insulting the "fake diseases".

That being said I want to start off by saying I recently was diagnosed with ADD. After years of going through school feeling like I must just be stupid, or broken in some way, I have to say the change is amazing. To someone who does not have ADD this sounds ridiculous, but I'm willing to bet at least of a few of you on here are like me. The difference in being able to focus on one thing is life changes to put it in simple terms. Then there are however the side effects...

Weight loss, lack of appetite, insomnia, mood changes, headaches and nausea. I don't have to constantly deal with that, on the days I'm fine my brain is like a super computer. Things I didn't even know I remembered come back. I suppose some people are like this normally, but for me it just is an amazing feeling. But then there are the off days; I just feel awful, lethargic, and unmotivated.

I suppose what I'd like to talk about then is if any of you are being treated, do you experience a situation similar to mine? It's just so strange to feel like my brain is working right again, and then on certain days to just be off. So let's talk.

I'm pretty much the opposite of ADD.

I can just focus my mind at will and keep it focused.

Dumb people are just blissfully unaware of how very dumb they are.

Anyone with ADHA or ADD couldn't read that wall of text.

Hell I don't have either and I couldn't read it.

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Hey look! A squirrel!

See that's how I am on a good day. It is amazing. Thinking about that and how I was last year is just..amazing.

Yeah I take Adderall and have taken it and multiple other medications for years and so they aren't as effective as they once were (I dont feel like a supercomputer) but I can definitely tell when I didn't take it that morning, even if I don't quite remember for sure. Unfortunately I also almost constatnly suffer from pretty much all the side effects

I still managed to pull above average, but damn it was more work than it needed to be. Tests were just forget it, I blanked every time without fail. It was like my brain just did not connect that it needed to recall things. I imagine that's what you mean.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I'm very happy for you, Eagle. I may not know what it's like to have ADD specifically but to go from a weakened state to a fully functioning one is a feeling I am familiar with.

You already come across as someone with above average intellect so it took me by surprise.

Thank you, it was never really an intelligence factor though. I scored high on IQ tests, placement tests, standardized tests, hell I got a higher score on the SAT than my sister who held a 4.0 all four years. It was just a lack of recall really is the only way I could characterize it. For instance I would take a test and think I did great and end up with a terrible grade. It's not like that anymore and it is an amazing thing.

I suppose at this point I'm just rambling, but I feel great now. I'd go as far as to say anyone who claims medication like this turns you into a brainless husk is very ignorant overall.

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

Most of the side effects wore off quickly for me. After about a month or two the only problem I still have is occasional loss of appetite.

Other than that I've had little to no problems. Went from barely passing Math with a D- to getting A's in Honors.

I've been noticing that as well, the first few weeks I couldn't stomach anything. I hope the disappearance of side effects continues in my case as well then.
