Wouldn't it simultaneously end everywhere from a certain point in a south american timezone?
I was thinking that maybe that was a possibility.
But did they even have twenty four hour days? Did they just start the day from dawn onwards? It really doesn't matter how they divided up their day. In the end, one day for them is still one day for us.
As for the time zones, I was thinking the same thing. Since the Mayans lived on the Yucatan peninsula, they would use the same time as those of us who live in the American Central time zone (As can be seen here). So, the last day of Earth should start around 1:00am Eastern/12:00am Central.
