It's like Isolation in terms of how segmented the top is from the bottom, except in this instance, the top is full of clutter, far too much cover and odd height disparities.
Have you never had fights where you have to look down at your feet chasing a guy who's trying to run to bottom-mid to escape, or have to look up to the sky to fight with the guy on the base's sniper perch? Vertical variation is good, but it shouldn't go to such extremes. It's one of the reasons I'm not fond of Construct either.
The side rooms on the bases are too small and leads to random grenade spamming. The blind corners at the sides of the bases have the same problem. The bases aren't even symmetrical.
It's just a mess of a map really. It looks pretty though. I like the colour palette of rust, fire and foliage.
Fair points. Although I guess it depends on the mode.. its great for CTF.CTF wise, I would rather the Flags spawn on the two sides of the map rather than the "bases" as it would be symmetrical then and the sniper perches could be power positions to hold.
Same for Haven, rather than the open/light and closed/dark sides of the map, I'd rather the flags spawn by Needler and Sticky Detonator stairs.
