Think a what you want but no weapons over power the over in either game which = balance.

Halo 1 had the pistol and 2/3 had the BR.

For H4 the DMR is by far the best all round weapon and plays the same role as the ones you mentioned from previous games.

Reach was not balanced due to OP AAs being so dominant and vehicles being made out of cardboard. Reach was also full of terrible unbalanced maps.

Balance is not just about the weapons.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Well, Halo 3 in it's prime was best Halo. Reach was downright not fun (despite all the games i played...), and Halo 4 breathed some life into the series, but it went the same way as Reach.

Back in the H3 days, i always wanted to play one more game. That never happened with Reach, and it doesn't happen anymore with Halo 4.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

Haters logic:
He likes halo 4, he must have never played halo 2,3!

How hard is it to bleeding well accept that some people geniunely like it more than other games?

I use the DMR most of the time but I still get beaten by the carbine/BR and even the assault and storm rifle's. I would not call the DMR overpowered, it does it's job but sucks at close range.

The only thing I can agree with you is on the maps of both games, they are not "great" but they alright, the AA's have always been balanced just people hated Armour lock.

If you prefer Halo 2 multiplayer then you enjoy untested buggy as crap multiplayer and cannot comment on anything to do with multiplayer as far as im concerned.

Never played Halo 2 online until after the TU I believe and it was great. Whether you wanted to play competitively in the ranked playlists or casually in customs or Team Training, Halo 2 had the best online experience (gameplay wise and community wise). And yeah yeah, the modders. People just called them nerds and moved on. Honestly, if you were cheated against, any frustration you had from it passed on by the time you started up the next match. Because the game was fun.

How can you say aiming 5 feet away from somebody and get a head shot skill?

Elaborate.

Posted by: Android Spartan
How can you call the BxR skill? How can you call super jumping skill?

It was a good way to get out of a pickle in a hurry. You really had to set yourself up to get BxR'd anyways. Superbouncing was really fun for customs and barely affected matchmaking for me. If I saw someone trying one, I'd kill them. If they were able to get outside the map, who cares? Like I stated earlier about modders and such, it blew over before the next match.

You can't but yet the whole thing is praised, as far as im concerned anybody that likes Halo 2 hates balance which is why Halo Reach and 4 is hated by them.

I don't want to play any Halo game as much but thats because I grew up since I don't really play games that often any more.

I stopped playing Halo 3 due to the horrendous lag and could not play a game after my 1st death. Something similar happened to Halo Reach a year after release and haven't been on 4 much lately since I have gone off gaming a bit.

Doesn't mean any of them are bad, we are just growing up.

What I mean with the head shot thing was the Auto aim was ridiculous check youtube and you'll see what I mean (People are complaining about H4's minor auto aim lol).

And the BxR was an game exploit which didn't leave people on a level playing field but was abused and then people claimed it was skill.

Like I said you probably enjoyed it if you enjoy buggy and unbalanced gameplay.

I think everyone takes how bad it is too far. Like, as in it's not even bad. In fact it is rather great, really great. The campaign at least, haven't played much of the multiplayer.

It doesn't come close to the magic of Halo 2. Dominion is not better than Invasion from Halo: Reach.

It's better than Halo 3 though.

Why? A couple of reasons.
1) Personal Loadouts means no AR Start gametypes.
2) Hitscan BR and DMR (I live in England, so a red crosshair being a guaranteed shot helps a ton when you're not host and fighting latency across the atlantic).
3) No shield doors.
4) Wider field of view.
5) AAs better than Equipment. No Bubble Shield, Regen Field isn't overpowered, etc.
6) No Snowbound, Epitaph, Onslaught, Isolation, Blackout etc. The Pit is the best map on Halo 3, and IMO Haven is better because it doesn't wall off the two sides of the map, creating blind choke points and standoffs.
I like this a lot.

I don't know, i play a lot of CoD these days. I can't stand to play Halo 3 anymore though, so i guess it is just me growing and my tastes changing.

More along the lines of:
He likes Halo 4 the most? Probably sucked ass at 2 and 3 and maybe even Reach since that was somehow possible for some.
Said players also most likely preferred CoD games to previous Halo games.

Or they just like the way Halo 4 plays better?

I don't want to start another account for a digital number that has no true value in ten years.

I've noticed probably 90% of those who think 4 is the best didn't start playing Halo until Halo 3 in 2009 or later. Just sayin.

All roads lead to Sol.

I had more fun playing Halo 4 then I thought I would have done. I thought it was great, Yet for reasons unbeknownst to me I am not inclined to keep playing.

Maybe its because I am playing too many other great games.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

I'm better at Halo 4 than I was at Halo 3 or Reach, but I just about prefer 3. Probably because of all the friends I made on there, and the endless custom games we had. Now, most of them either have lives or only use the PS3 or PC.

Appeal? I get more access to power weapons because of ordnance drops. The game looks far superior to any Halo game before, except maybe Halo 2's art style, and CE's Forerunner design. I swear the movement and aiming has been tuned to make it actually fun compared with Reach's slog.

As for Call of Duty, I've played the demo of Classic, the whole of 2, 3, 4, WaW and MW2. I enjoyed 2 and 3. And some of WaW.

"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I can't accept not trying." - M. Jordan

I really don't understand the crowd that thinks Halo 2 was some great game. I had such high expectations and Halo 2 just let me down big time. I tried so hard to like it but I just go so bored with the game. Some people say Halo 4 doesn't "feel" like Halo. Neither did Halo 2 to me. Halo 3 is where Bungie saved this franchise. Even Halo:Reach had a good feel to it. Halo 4 feels like COD.

I don't even really know how to explain why this game feels off. The game feels poorly made, like a cheap plastic toy. It's a second rate product and doesn't have the polish that I expect from such a high profile franchise.

  • 12.20.2012 4:18 AM PDT

1.58 k/d in Halo 4, and I don't play CoD very often. I only play it when my dad plays, and even then, rarely.

So what is it you expect to validate from this?

So, OP, you're implying that anyone who likes Halo 4 either sucks or plays Call of Duty a lot?

Well, I'm not afraid.

Halo 3 was my first Halo. Got a problem? Don't care. I've played five Call of Duty games on this profile. Got a problem? Still don't care.

My opinion is that Halo 4 is the best Halo game. Got a problem? Can you guess my answer?

Member of team Master Theory.

17th Mythic Conqueror of Halo 3.
5th Mythic Conqueror of ODST.
If you would like to know more about Mythic difficulty please go to this thread. Thank you.

Please do not send me "recruitment messages" as I'm not interested in joining any groups currently.

I prefer Halo 4's gameplay at its absolute core over 3 & Reach (didn't play enough H2 to comment anecdotally, although I do understand the mechanics etc), but I simply can't stand to play any of the matchmaking playlists.
There's just too much random clutter over the top of an otherwise good game. Randomly timed weapon drops? Random personal ordnance? Unbalanced/bugged loadout options (hello there, Camo glitch)? Massively random Dominion resupplies?

All of that isn't an inherent problem with the game, though, as it can easily be fixed with the forge & custom options given. Although I will comment that the lack of a micro-adjustment forge feature (overlooked by Certain Affinity; they do want to TU it in thankfully) and a litany of custom options which don't actually work (disabling Flag carrier/last stand waypoints etc) the game can still provide a deal of frustration.

Ultimately once the randomness is stripped and I'm playing something much closer to what I feel the natural evolution of Halo should have been, it's a great game which finally has a powerful sandbox again. Put all the crap on top of it and I want little to do with it.
And that's why I've gone through an entire specialisation just from time spent forging & playing custom games. I want to play Halo 4, not "Halo" 4, and I'm doing what I can to make that a reality for myself.

EDIT: Just to make a few things clearer - I don't think there's been an undeniably "good" Halo game since CE, and even that had some flaws (mostly physics based). I dislike that each Halo game has been significantly different to its predecessor. There was no need to re-invent the wheel each time when the wheel only needed a little bit of improvement in the first place. What we've ended up with is a series of different wheels, all bumpier in different places. Overall it's just disappointing that the series has been anything but consistent.

Here's my 2nd Account here
my first has been long gone, someone hijacked the first one and changed all the credentials before I had a chance to do anything.

I've played 2 CoD games; MW2 and BO.
