I prefer to have cash but credit cards are much more convenient.

The only reason I prefer using debit/credit is that cash usually creates jingle change that you then have to carry around in your pocket.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I just jizzed in my pants.

Credit is superior.

Dem rewards points.

The Wonderful LeSieg!

I have mistrust over credit cards and their rewards programs.

I use either a debit card or just cash.

Dem rewards points.

This, and I find that when I carry cash i'm more compelled to spend it than if I just have cards on me.

Why is that brah?

Obviously you have to not be a retard and:

1. Not spend more money than you have cash on hand
2. Make sure you pay off the balance in full each month

But once you have 1 and 2 down, collect the rewards paid for by the idiots who make minimum payments and pay 15-25% interest.

I probably get an average of 2-3% back every time I use a card. That is like giving myself a 2-3% raise - thousands and thousands of dollars saved each year.

Cash, if you depend on a card then you can spend more than you should quite easily.

Cash gives you a limit.

People don't offer a service unless they're somehow making money off of it. While some people undoubtedly benefit from these rewards programs, I personally don't feel the need to buy on credit. Maybe I'm just a purist or an ass or whatever, but I don't have interest in credit.

Definitely true.

And that is obviously up to you. Personally, I feel the benefits, which extend even beyond rewards points, are worth it to me.

If I for some reason get mugged, misplace my wallet, or something else, if I'm carrying cash I'm pretty much out of luck. I can cancel my cards or dispute any fradulent transactions. Also get extended warranties and travel perks as well on my cards.

But it's very easy to be in that group that benefit, as explained above. The way some credit cards are setup now, the rewards for responsible members are fairly substantial.

And to be honest, if you're not using credit you're probably paying for everyone else to.

In addition to making money charging interest, credit card companies charge swipe fees. When I buy something, JPMorgan is going to take a 2% cut of the price that the seller pays.

Obviously, the seller isn't going to eat that fee out of their own pocket - they pass it along to the customers. Cash paying customers (with the rare exceptions of places that offer cash discounts) pay the same price as I do and end up paying that passed along fee at the same rate I do.
