"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

Maybe Infantile, attention-mongering, Fleshbags is more appropriate?
Frankly I'd prefer something short and to the point. Something along the lines of "Forum Copiers." Catchy...
Fan Fiction: I am not saying that my Fan Fiction is necessarily the best; all I said was that I find that those that are written about Halo 3 get the most publicity. It just seems a little unfair for us smaller-time writers who have to compete when we have genuinely unique ideas.
Forum Cops: I used this term loosely, but I was in essence describing the "ZOMG BANT!" types. Those who explain the rules and help to guide new or lost members are a welcome addition to the community, but they sadly fall under the same generalisation.
Groups: I think that if a group wants to get publicity they should simply post a single message to a member, and explain the advantages of their group. Instead, what I get are multiple messages that order me to join the same group, in order to get their member count up. No thanks, I think I'll pass.
New Mombasa: This is just my opinion; New Mombasa was generally more sensible before the flock of Zanizbarians arrived. I, sadly, was I regular poster in Zanzibar and New Mombasa, so I know what I'm talking about. Still, others would agree to disagree; that's their opinion, and they're welcome to it.
Hmm. I didn't expect my thread to be this controversial.

Now you're speaking my language. I agree. While I still think that the fan-fictions point is not something to rant about (I think someone else made a better point than I did), my main problem was that a once respected term was being used to describe people that a lot of us don't care for. Even though you didn't mean to offend any good people, I'm very likely to take offense when I help people and then get grouped with people that you cited in your original post. However, I know you didn't mean to offend people like me when you wrote that.
Ok, so that's my controversy.
