"New York's "Operation Game Over" has helped to ban more than two thousand registered sex offenders from online games."

Whoa, what do you guys think of this? Do you think it's about time they get on this or overboard?

I think this is good but at the same time, how can they be monitored all the time? They can just make new accounts.

Stupid. Let them play.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I would prefer if they banned the little kids from playing

Also to play devil's advocate, online games are generally unrated and the user has to use his or her discretion, meaning it would be the parent's responsibility to monitor online play.

Did they ban them from M rated games? If they did, then that's stupid.

STOP ASSAULT 2012

Who is Assault? Assault is a mod in the Bungie.net brony group. And what started out with good intentions, viciously spiraled down into a power hungry tyrant locking thread after thread after thread to quell all opposition to his tyrannical rule. Did I mention he is a tyrant?

Lets compromise. We ban both.

Currently studying Computer Science & Software engineering. Hope to work on mobile devices of the future! When a certain game's credits roll, look out for my name! ;)

You will -blam!- bricks when you see what game it is! =)

This is funny because there was a guy here who said that a bunch of his XBL friends randomly dissapeared. Guess he was playing with the wrong people, eh?

lol

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

Good.

The term is very broad, you can be a sex offender if you get drunk and go to the bathroom in public.

Help a kid up off the ground and you are an offender.

  • 12.20.2012 5:14 PM PDT

I'm sure the guy who was drunk and peed in a back alley deserves to be banned from World of Warcraft.

  • 12.20.2012 5:15 PM PDT

the only difference between those sex offenders and the other scum on Live, is that those pedos hurt people mentally AND physically.

I think cutting the threat in half is a good start.

I can understand if they solicited minors using online gaming they should be banned from them but it does not make sense for offences not related to that.

Also if games are rated M and have online capabilities, shouldn't that be fine to play? After all, everyone in an M game is "supposed" to be over 18 or the parents give their kids permission.
