Here it is.

I was reading about this on IGN, and I am surprised at the number of people who think that "if parents would stop buying these games for their kids, this wouldn't be a problem". Maybe if people wouldn't try to substitute what they think sounds good for actual study, this wouldn't happen either. All the bill would do is let the government study violent video games and their effects, not take the controllers out of your hands and poop in your disc tray.

I don't care, the science already has shown there is no correlation.

It's nice to make a study, but the motives seem off.

Hooray. A multi-million dollar study that'll find out what we already know.

Major corporations, including the video game industry, make billions on marketing and selling violent content to children. They don't market violent content towards children.

They have a responsibility to protect our children. No, they don't. That responsibilty falls solely on parents.

GOAT

I'd love to see what their results will be.

I definitely believe video games make us less human and less empathetic.

It's a waste of money. It is a government funded study, so whatever it sets out to prove will be proven or funding will be pulled. It happens literally every time the government sets out to 'study' something. Some lobby or public interest group sets the premise of the study only to validate their opinions.

Even if videogames were harmful to children, the simplest solution is to STOP BUYING THEM. We can't have everything be like tobacco and alcohol and drugs, where there is so much stigma and children are fed outright lies to attempt to delay their introduction to such elements.

I know the last COD game made me sick to my stomach.

It all came off as RAH RAH RAH American propaganda military garbage.

First mission, 50 guys who are running away are just gunned down from behind by your 'good guy' army. Nothing says how great war is like shooting virtual people fleeing in the back.

Actually, there is a correlation, but violent video games are not a cause of violent kids.
