I'm your biggest fan!

Any mission that involves AI. It doesn't matter if they are helping you or you have to escort them they are always a pain in the ass.

I'd argue having Arbiter around in Halo 3 was only really a good thing.

The Silent Cartogropher or Assault on the Control Room would not have been the same without those marines, either.

The marines made nearly that whole damn game for me. It one of the main reasons I felt Halo 4 was lacking, in fact. It was so easy to forget they were around you and they had no personality. None of the damn characters in that game had personality.

Escort Missions

This. I've never found an escort mission that was remotely fun.

Tell that to Ashley
I laughed thank you bro
OT-this is my pet peeve only for fallout when you go into VATS and the game game doesn't realise that you don't have enough ammo to get the kill so the VATS goes into regular speed and you get mauled becuase your stuck in VATS

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

Escort Missions are the bane of my gaming existence.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Excessive respawn times, I don't like them.
Also slow movement on a large map. It feels like a snail's pace.

Fetch quests.

"I need X amount of Y ingredient/component"

"Yea well, good luck with that. Not doing this stupid quest."

Quick Time Events.
They are not fun.

QTEs. They break up the flow of the game and make all of those game mechanics and every way in which you've developed your character totally irrelevant.

-Ghost cow

Dumb AI

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

Forgettable worlds
Repetitive mini games that aren't any fun(AC3 lockpicking, I'm looking at you)
Excessive glare

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Long unskippable cutscenes/walking sequences. Makes replaying games suck.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

Games that use gameplay as an excuse for horrible writing and characters. Looking at you, virtually every shooter on the market.

Go watch a film. Most games have story as second fiddle to gameplay as it rightly should be because it's a -blam!- game.

I think the games that really shine are ones with great writing AND gameplay. Imagine combining Heavy Rain with your favorite type of gameplay. Alan Wake, for example, is one of my favorite games because I enjoy the plot just as much as the gameplay. If it can be done, there's really no excuse, is there?

I have to say, I was heavily disappointed to see Assassin's Creed hunting turn into a Quicktime event
