First off, the reason disappointing is in all-caps is to emphasize the definition.

Disappointing DOES NOT mean the worst or least favorite. It simply means which game did you have rally high expectations or hype and the game let you down. So if you were skeptical of Halo 4 from the beginning/announcement and didn't like it after the purchase/playing it, chances are it wasn't disappointing to you.

Warning! Large wall below(?):

Personally; Halo Reach. I envisioned the campaign being a lot different. Like every level was going to be Noble team fighting for dear life along with hundreds of Spartan IIs. Honestly the campaign made me feel that Noble team were the only Spartans on the planet. Campaign just bored me, I only would replay the campaign for achievements and challenges.

I played the Reach Beta and honestly, I liked the beta but the final outcome angered me. They copy n pasted parts of the campaign into the MP and firefight maps. So much unbalance, so much anger and frustration compared to the beta.

Forgeworld also disappointed me. When they showed the trailer, I was super excited to make my own maps. Problem was, It makes me nauseous to constantly see the gray structures along with green grass and blue sky.

Even the DLC was disappointing.

How about you flood? Which Halo game disappointed you the most ?

Don't LOL if you aren't L'inOL.

Halo: Reach
Halo 3
Halo ODST

Halo 4 easily.

I was one of the few that really looked forward to it, but trust me, I was disappointed.

Halo Wars. Just because it wasn't really a halo game, and it was a RTS on a console...

  • 12.21.2012 8:41 AM PDT

Halo: CEA

Why did we need a remasterd one?
There was no point.

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

I was so excited for Halo 4, I could hardly stand it. For the first week or so after release, that's all I played. Then it got boring.

I'd say that was pretty disappointing.

Halo 2 was the best Halo game
A7x FoREVer!

Halo 3 easily... That game had the most hype and highest expectations.

Unfortunately Halo Reach for me but simply because I didn't buy Halo 4.

Bungie doesn't like French on their site.

Halo Wars was the least fun for me. So it earns the title of most disappointing halo game.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

I would have to say Halo 2, for no other reason that it was the fist Halo sequal and I totally bought into the hype. It was by no means a bad game, but as much as I loved CE I was not ready for the many changes made to MP, as well as the rushed and fractured campaign. CE set my expectations so high, there was no way Bungie was going to meet them with a more simplified MP and weaker campaign.

After that, i've taken a more cautiously optimistic approach to Halo games, and have yet to be disappointed. Frustrated at times for sure, but never as disappointed as I was with Halo 2.

Reach was the most disappointing for me. I never had high expectations for Halo 4.

I had a lot more hype for Halo Reach than Halo 4, but Halo 4 disappointed me more.

Halo 2 hands down.

-Horrible campaign with many plot holes and a terrible ending.
-Atrocious graphics with blurry textures.
-Clunky movement and gameplay.
-Unbalanced multiplayer with the worst net code imaginable and hit boxes the size of a truck.

Of course everyone will defend this game with all of their might.

Halo 3, without a doubt.

Halo Reach. I expected Halo 4 to be completely terrible so it wasn't quite so bad when it came true.

  • 12.21.2012 8:46 AM PDT

Fun Fact: If you look up "wasted potential" in the dictionary, there is a picture if Halo: Reach next to it.

  • 12.21.2012 8:47 AM PDT

ODST for me. Didn't like any of the characters (absurdly silent Rookie, whiny, wimpy Buck, and the Larry, Moe, and Curly of "soldiers" that the rest of the squad was), didn't care for the story, and Firefight, while ok, lagged a lot and really didn't justify the overpriced $60 pricetag in my opinion.

I didn't hate ODST. It was ok. Still, definitely the most disappointing Halo game in my opinion.

3rd edition. Now with more grunt.

TFS 4 lyfe

ODST.

I hoped for a darker story. Also, the fact they all survived kind of made it feel way more cheesy than it should have, especially considering the atmosphere.

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

Halo 4, I had the biggest hopes that the multiplayer would be a lot of fun but it just wasn't. The class system added too many variables. Everyone starting with one gun and having to pick up a different one made for a level playing field. There are also way too many power weapons.

Halo 4 Flood is fun but I can't stand the fact that they have only one weapon, that just threw a lot of amazing gametypes out of the window.I can't stand not being able to use precision forging in Forge now, it's a pain in the ass to get some of the walls right.

Spartan Ops is boring and repetitive, I'm tired of the same maps over and over again.

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

Reach at least I was expecting Halo 4 to disappoint me, but Reach was just out of the blue terrible. I even remembered loving the beta.

  • 12.21.2012 8:58 AM PDT

Halo 2.
It was still great, but not as great.

I hated Halo: Wars, but wasn't dissapointed as I thought I'd hate it.

I'm your biggest fan!

Reach. I've probably never been more hyped for a game in my life (except maybe MW2) and don't get me wrong, it was good, but it just didn't compare to Halo 3.

Halo Wars. Just because it wasn't really a halo game, and it was a RTS on a console...

Did you know that before buying the game? If you knew it wasn't a RTS and wasn't really a Halo game, why did you set yourself up for disappointment?
