CEA. The bugs are still present and a map pack instead of a remastered multiplayer. How lazy could 343 get with that game?

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

Never played Halo Wars (aside from the demo), so that's omitted for me.

Halo 2, by far.

Yes, I know it's a fan-fav for many reasons, but after two years of waiting, it simply didn't live up to my expectation. I've posted videos on the subject matter on my site. In other words, too long of a rant to place in one post.

The engine/gameplay was purposely untouched. The mappack did piss me off. It would have been a blessing to rid of the Reach online community.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

How was Reach more disappointing than 4? At least Reach was still an arena shooter.

Notice it says disappointing not, which one is better. People probably had a higher expectation for Reach than Halol4. I am not surprised the community hypes the game a lot. All Bungie said was, "We are making a game on Reach!" Bam! the community went all crazy. Bungie didn't say it was going to be the best or going to be better than Halo 3. The community hyped it up like it was going to be.

Halo 4.

I had high expectations for Reach, and it delivered. I expected a lot of customization, but no where near as much customization as they had in that game. Almost everything can be changed if you don't like it.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

For me, it was Halo 4. I wouldn't say I had extremely high expectations for Halo 4, but from everything I had seen prior to the game's release, I was really looking forward to it. However, the game did not hold up to those expectations from a campaign point of view.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

I like halo reach halo 4 was not that great.

Halo 4. It manages to surpass Reach... in bull-blam!-.

1. What happened to all the great easter eggs? Even Reach had tons of them. From what I've heard, the Requiem backtrack easter egg only gives you rocket launchers and shotguns... which you find on the bridge and in the next area not to mention there's plenty of Carbines on this level...

2. What the hell happened to out of map exploration? Enough said.

3. What happened to the massive AI numbers?

4-5 waves of 1 Wraith + 2 Ghosts on Reclaimer /= engaging
1 wave of Covies dropping from the Lich /= engaging
1 wave of Covies boarding FuD /= engaging

4. What happened to level originality?

Dawn - watered down PoA (when getting out of the cryotube and doing all those QTEs) and Cairo Station (boarding fight, space fight, blowing up a ship)
Requiem - watered down Halo
Forerunner - watered down T&R
Infinity - exact opposite of Silent Cartographer
Reclaimer - experiment (extremely buggy level design), watered down Ark (I guess)
Shutdown - experiment (horrible level design), watered down Covenant (I guess)
Composer - longer, better version of Dawn
Midnight - longer, rushed version of Forerunner + Forerunner in reverse (instead of an ending run, you start off in a run and instead of taking out pylons, you're taking out AA cannons)

5. What happened to balancing?

lack of reliable cover
disappearing weapons
mooks with supercombining needlers
Ghosts that can shoot at your Banshee from incredible distances

Reach had the space battle level, and the civilian rescue mission.

One does not simply trolololol into Mordor.

I made the mistake with Reach, of reading any and all information posted about it, leaked or otherwise, so when the game came out and I basically knew 90% of it already, all I had left was all the bad things to find out, so it was just terrible.

I learned from that and I didn't read anything about Halo 4 at all, and what do you know I find it really fun because I actually learned all the stuff myself while playing it.

I liked Reach and ODST . . . a lot.

4 disappointed me the most.

I don't like Spartan Ops or the regular multiplayer maps (except Ragnarok, love that map)

Reach.

I wasn't expecting 4 to be good. I actually had somewhat high expectations for Reach.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Halo 2 and Halo 4 had the highest expectations from me.

To be honest, in comparing campaigns, Halo 2 was more disappointing. Barely.

Halo 4 was more disappointing in every other asepct of the game.

Reach. It just felt like a game that didn't need to be made. I really would of preferred giving Halo 3 a longer lifespan population wise.

It wasn't a bad game, it was just meh. Nothing memorable or fun about it for me.

I persist too long after my own defeat,
Yet I still press forward, staggering on my feet.
But I know that my resolution will be my end.
And once I fall, I shall ruefully transcend.

Halo 2 hands down.

-Horrible campaign with many plot holes and a terrible ending.
-Atrocious graphics with blurry textures.
-Clunky movement and gameplay.
-Unbalanced multiplayer with the worst net code imaginable and hit boxes the size of a truck.

Of course everyone will defend this game with all of their might.

Don't care. Still had fun.
