Reach for the reasons you stated pretty much, i expected the campaign to be so EPIC i mean explosions people die-ing in my arms stabbing elites in the face, and HUGE battles, but alas none of those happened

I doubt many people were here when Halo 2 was released, but I believe that to be the biggest letdown. Ever.

4. What happened to level originality?

Dawn - watered down PoA (when getting out of the cryotube and doing all those QTEs) and Cairo Station (boarding fight, space fight, blowing up a ship)
Requiem - watered down Halo
Forerunner - watered down T&R
Infinity - exact opposite of Silent Cartographer
Reclaimer - experiment (extremely buggy level design), watered down Ark (I guess)
Shutdown - experiment (horrible level design), watered down Covenant (I guess)
Composer - longer, better version of Dawn
Midnight - longer, rushed version of Forerunner + Forerunner in reverse (instead of an ending run, you start off in a run and instead of taking out pylons, you're taking out AA cannons)

1+2)I don't see how any of these missions are "watered down". Just because they relate to another Halo mission in terms of atmosphere doesn't mean there watered down. I'm pretty sure the escaping and crashing onto this mysterious world was a nod to the previous trilogy.

3) In no way shape or form does forunner relate to T&R, T&R had you doing a stealth part, invade an enemy ship then rescue your captain.

4) It's a flaw if a level is opposite to another level?

5) Not really

6) If anything it felt like a mission from Halo 2, where the arbiter had to defend that gondola/floaty thing from opposing forces. Or the level Regret where you also ride the gondola.

7)Just because it takes place in space doesn't mean it's exactly like Dawn

8) Except it felt a little bit more fun to do

If you didn't Play Halo: CE or Halo 2 MP, your opinion about Halo means nada.

Halo 3 easily... That game had the most hype and highest expectations.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

That would be Halo Wars, for me. It felt like what I imagine a PG version of Scarface would be like. It was just shudderingly wrong.

3) I forgot to include Two Betrayals.

4) Silent Cartographer felt open. Infinity is extremely linear.

5) So you've never had the Mammoth driving into nothingness issue? Or the Lich becoming invincible? Or being launched when flipping the Scorpion?

6) Yeah that's true. But visiting the towers = The Covenant

7) it has similar scenery, similar locations. And not once do you go out into space actually.

8) Maybe...

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

March 3, 2553

I had very high hopes for Halo Reach because of how great Halo 3 and ODST were, I was let down severely.

In saying that, Halo 4 is the worst Halo game, it wasn't the most disappointing because I knew it was going to be terrible.

-Once again, I fail to see how they relate. Maybe taking out 3 things seems familiar, but I wouldn't say it's supposed to copy TB, I call it being an arbitrary objective. The only similarity I see is the revelation of a forerunner enemy.

- Silent Cartographer is the most non-linear level in all of the Halo games. By your justification, you can't compare it JUST to one Halo 4 mission.

-Nope, nope and nope. . . I don't even remember the scorpion tank being in that mission.

-Once again, it's an arbitrary gameplay tool. "take these three things down!"
Reach had it aswell, the mission after landing in the city (the mission where Kat dies) had that exact feeling. Hell, Halo 1 had that, Halo 3 had that and even ODST.

-It was in space, space tends to look like that, of course it's going to have similar scenery. Even then it was vastly different then Dawn. Dawn's environment was being in a cold and wrecked ship. Composer is on a moon/crater next to a Halo.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm just trying to point out that you can't really make comparisons that really have no substance.

Love,
-tha man

Reach. It wasn't a bad game by no means, but I had built up so much unrealistic hype that by the time I got my hands on it I realized that it didn't meet my expectations.

Halo CE. After being told it was an amazing game I was disappointed to find it was a garbage game.

I liked it until about February, then all the crap 343 was doing on Reacg turned me off.

Halo 2 hands down.

-Horrible campaign with many plot holes and a terrible ending.
-Atrocious graphics with blurry textures.
-Clunky movement and gameplay.
-Unbalanced multiplayer with the worst net code imaginable and hit boxes the size of a truck, super magnets for bullets, Commando Pro melee lunges, non existent CQC, and more

Of course everyone will defend this game with all of their might.

Reach, only because my expectations were so high, it still was a great game and I enjoyed it.

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

Halo: Reach was the biggest dissapointment in the Halo series by far. Halo 4 had a bit of a warning (new devs, new story, silly advertising, and major changes to sounds and looks was all known before it even shipped), but no one saw Halo: Reach's blunders coming.

Halo Wars. Just because it wasn't really a halo game, and it was a RTS on a console...

and a terrible one at that

OT: Halo 2 by far
