Subject: Online pr0nz to be filtered in the UK

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I have an idea, why not just let the parents be responsible for monitoring and keeping track of their child's online activities.

Whenever I hear stuff like this, I feel it is because of lazy parents who want a government to make sure their kids are "safer" playing with their virtual nanny.

Isn't that kind of obvious parents don't want to take responsibility for parenting their child so they force the blame on someone else until the "problem" is fixed.

I knew finally downloading some was a good choice.

Some? Please try a few hundred GB's at the minimal.

"Right now it is raining methane on Titan. The planet Uranus is, hilariously, orbiting the sun sideways while Venus spins backwards. We sit here on a planet marked with collisions, rocked by earthquakes, shaken by storms. A planet doomed to be fried in radiation as its magnetic fields collapse, until the sun grows and leaves nothing of the earth but dust. Here we sit, glasses on our noses, inhalers in our pockets, braces on our teeth, and we say "Behold the perfect ORDER of it all!""

You act as if the main reason this filter is going to be implemented (children) will know how to erase their history, or even know about it.

But I'd expect a parent, the one buying the computer, to know the basics like that.

Unless they have a program to block pr0n websites or watch their kid while they use it then they can easily just erase their history. I am sure there are plenty of kids that will know how to erase history at that age. Hell I knew about it before it was commonplace.

Exactly. By the time children learn about that point they're probably old enough to be able to comprehend it, not "destroy innocence" and therefore making this entire think a waste of time.

GG UK, next step is removing all the alcohol.

True, but unfortunately a lot of parents don't share that viewpoint. They think their child is a delicate thing that will be traumatized by something like pr0n which is a joke.

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

Do some of these idiots not know what parenting is? It's the parent's job to keep their kids away from this or teach them about it when they're ready, not the governments.

I'm tired of the government(s) trying to take over lives.

So, that trusted source...Where is it?

Also your source is getting its info from the Daily Mail the worst paper in the country. The stupid paper told people the EU was going to pretend WW2 never happened.

OOOOHHHHHHHHHH

I read a short time ago during some research that this isn't going to happen. It kept being rejected to the point that it was just absurd to even suggest. Cameron's just kissing up to the people he wants support from, but in reality he's making promises he knows he can't keep.

  • 12.21.2012 12:40 PM PDT

Dammit Cameron is trying to hoard all the pr0nz for himself ._.

Nanny state in action.

The nation with more cameras watching its people than North Korea is now telling its citizens what they can and cannot watch.

Surprised?

  • 12.21.2012 12:59 PM PDT

Don't we already have software for that?

  • 12.21.2012 1:01 PM PDT

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

I think this is bad. I think they should take more action to prevent it, but they shouldn't do this... This is ridiculous in my opinion.

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

How about you just let the parents do their job? Doing it for them will only make them act less strict, since the government will be doing everything for them.

Meh, I guess I could understand this. Accidentally finding pronz on the internet nearly ruined my childhood, and those images keep appearing in my head. It messes you up.

Children could easily get around parents. It's actually pretty easy to go on a computer when no one at home, and search history can be easy to delete.

Although, video games are still wrong to sensor. If anyone touches video games, I swear I'm going to go nuts.
