What's up, bro-fist!

Wanted to be master of DO NOT WANT, but in latin to show he's clever.

My voice is really soft. It's virtually impossible for me to communicate with anyone across a room or at a party, even when I'm yelling.

Anyone got any tips for speaking louder without ruining my throat?

Shakes Magic 8 Ball

Talk with your hands and make strong eye contact.

So much this. I have a very soft and non-intrusive voice, but I find that I'm able to hold the attention of the room best when I am animated (without being ridiculous) and able to present my demeanor in a way that convinces people I should be listened to.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Try practicing talking loud every once in a while and see if that helps?
good luck.

This indeed works for me from time to time, but holding attention isn't the problem for me, grabbing the attention of another person is.

In that case, try wearing louder clothes and positioning yourself in a room or lecture hall in a highly-visible area.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

You need to learn to project. Breathe from your diaphragm and focus on speaking forward, not really on speaking loudly. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's what we had to do when I was learning to sing at school, and it works.

I've been practicing breathing with the diaphragm for a couple months but I haven't been able to put it to use very well. Projecting the voice sounds logical enough though.
