If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

I realize most of you nerds won't be able to discuss the topic without bias but I think subjecting yourself to murder for hours every day (even if it's virtually) will have some sort of effect on the mind.

Props to those kids.

People use events like these to stimulate what they've been wanting for years. They take advantage of people's weaknesses and exploit them to their advantage. It's just another form of social engineering... they just call it "well-timed persuasion".

Proof video games cause violence and aggressuon. Obviously you people have no idea what you're talking about.

You do realize that a study conducted by the secret service completely blows this out of the water... right?

Actually it doesn't. I have multiple sources claiming otherwise. You have one poorly conducted study that you claim is valid simply because you agree with it. Try again.

Okay.

So post a study thats actually relevant.

You know... one that scientifically links murder to videogames?

Last time I checked, "aggression" wasn't murder. You can put a bag of popcorn in your microwave aggressively.

I also like how you ignored the fact that the study was conducted by the SS.

Lol nope, I'm never gonna stop playing shooting games because the people I kill in the game do not matter to me in the real world and do not effect anyone else either.

Rose alt confirmed.

Just report all of his posts. I did that the otherday and his alt was banned within an hour.

Actually my alt wasn't banned. But nice try.

Looks pretty banned to me.

That wasn't because you reported me. There's not even a report tag. You really are unintelligent.

You don't even understand how bans work. Apparently you think I'm a ninja.

Hey, you two. Can we not? Please and thank you.

OT: If someone could provide multiple sources claiming that video games lead to violence, I'd be happy to have a discussion with that person, but until then the point doesn't hold much credence. Like I said in the OP, mass murderers probably do/like a lot of things in common with one another and these similarities are more than likely ones of social norms than norms among mass murderers.

It's like when someone presents a demographic map for the regional appeal of a new product, and it actually just ends up being a US population density map.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Apparently they aren't confident enough in their own moral code to keep the games.

At least they're admitting they're prone to being violent psychopaths, I guess.

The rest of us will game on and never kill anyone. Their loss. Their money (or their parents' money) wasted. All they're demonstrating is that they are so weak-minded that they fear they will be influenced by entertainment media to the point where they abandon basic human morality and go on killing sprees.

Perhaps psychological evaluations are in order for those two.

He already has.

Exercise is better...

don't mind as long as the kids are going outside and having fun.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

What is idiotic is people taking it too seriously.

The News, lately, isn't really a great indicator of what is actually important.

Have you ever heard someone say "Is this really important?" while watching the news? Probably.

Mainstream news stations are designed to catre to their audiences - not to deliver the most important news. They're built to deliver the most interesting news, and there's probably just not much interesting stuff going on right now that CNN permits be shown to their audience.

It's news. They have to broadcast something - even if it's a garbage story.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

I find that Eastern and European news services offer better and less biased news than your standard channel news.

I don't think anything saddens me more than seeing game developers putting everything they got into these games - which honestly more often than not turn out as great and memorable pieces of art - only to have the world -blam!- on them and blame them for things beyond a simple video games reach.

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.
