I'm a walking paradox.

I'm sorry if this is old, but the fire must be fueled.

I personally went nuts when i was watching this conference.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

Just recently posted this on Facebook:

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

Patrick predicted this.

WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE ALL THE BLAME, AND PUSH IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!?

Don't worry, eventually they'll get it right. Or they'll all die, either way we'll be good.

I am a monument to all your sins

I am sick of this crap, why don't they just show the mountains of statistics demonstrating how violent video games are making our youth, and how violent crime is constantly on the rise since videogames became mainstream? Oh right, because it doesn't exist and they're just trying to deflect heat off of themselves.

He who wishes for peace must first prepare for war.

Video games are hardly ever realistic. That's the point of them being video games in the first place. I don't think that I will go and kill people after playing 45 minutes of Halo, where I'm shooting aliens and monsters.

They blame video games for their own failures. Typical of anybody. 'It's not my fault - it's their fault!'

There are no statistics to prove that a game is making someone commit mass murder. There are statistics to prove that over 100,000 murders a year are caused by weapons.

Nothing new. Video games have always been used as a scapegoat.

Hell, a long time ago comics were the scapegoat for society's problems.

  • 12.21.2012 1:22 PM PDT

Sounds like they're trying to divert the blame away from themselves.

I like stuff.

I agreed with the entire conference except for that bit. It upsets me to no end when videogames are blamed, but the rest of the conference I enjoyed. I do consider myself a strong supporter of the NRA.

The NRA should not have brought up videogames. They should have focused on the lack of mental healthcare in this country rather than videogames being the cause of violence.

Literary books were as well.

So they believe that we have the right to own those same weapons in the game.. but we don't have the right to use virtual versions of them. NRA just went full retard again.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

How about placing blame where it's really deserved?

Bad parents, that don't teach their children or look after them.
Ignorance.
Lack of mental healthcare, or the poor quality of mental healthcare.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Yup, the rampage killers used games, not guns, to kill all those people. Games kill over 10,000 people every year in the US.

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

These people are so blaming stupid. I love how the blame everything else, but guns. If a person is going to shoot up a school they are already mentally unstable. Any sane person can play a video and tell the difference between. What they are doing in a video game and the wrongs of it in real life. Violent video games do not cause people to become mentally unstable. They might give people ideas from the events in them. But you can say the same about everything else. I have been playing violent video games since I was in pre-school. And I haven't shot up any schools or movie theaters.

I love how these idiots don't blame, books, TV shows, history, society, their parents and human nature. Because they are just as bad if not worse. Let's say you have a person that grew up in a gang controlled neighborhood. The chancees of him growing up violent are higher than what a small town like mine would be.

I don't agree with what he said about video games and other media. I believe the blame is solely on the perpetrator of the barbaric actions.

That being said, I agree with everything else. The NRA response is strong, meaningful, and probably the right course of action. It made me proud to be a Member.

Near everyone with authority has gone full retard, not just one end of the spectrum.

If that's the case, all movies and books in which people are killed should be blamed too.

  • 12.21.2012 1:31 PM PDT

They actually blamed music and movies as well. +1 for blaming everything.

-2 for blaming them.

For those interested, here is the entire press release.

Press release

It was a short snippet that involved video games, and I think it was more of a criticism of all media in general. That Hollywood makes violent movies and TV shows, then attacks firearms when something goes bad and ignores their possible influence.

I don't entirely agree with it, but Wayne made some points. Everyone tries to move the blame away from them selves.
