For those interested, here is the entire press release.

Press release

It was a short snippet that involved video games, and I think it was more of a criticism of all media in general. That Hollywood makes violent movies and TV shows, then attacks firearms when something goes bad and ignores their possible influence.

I don't entirely agree with it, but Wayne made some points. Everyone tries to move the blame away from them selves.

It's literally the press release transcript.

I can go find it on another site if you like.

STOP ASSAULT 2012

Who is Assault? Assault is a mod in the Bungie.net brony group. And what started out with good intentions, viciously spiraled down into a power hungry tyrant locking thread after thread after thread to quell all opposition to his tyrannical rule. Did I mention he is a tyrant?

To donate to the STOP ASSAULT 2012 movement, message me with your credit card info, full name, social security, full adress, and mothers maiden name.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

While they were having the conference someone was gunning down innocent people, again. The NRA are refusing to admit that guns are the problem. I wonder why.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

Because mentally unstable people and the lack of mental healthcare, or the poor quality of what is available, is the real problem. Well over fifty million people in the US own firearms, and only a few thousand die from firearms, suicides and gang violence (using illegally obtained weapons) making up a large portion of those numbers. Is that still a lot of people? Yes. But, considering we're a country with 50 million gun owners, 260 million guns, 300 million citizens, a large amount of gangs, and a country entirely run by drug cartels bordering us to the south, I'd say those statistics are fairly positive.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Wow, talk about calling the kettle black.

The media would have been on them regardless. Some nasty things have been said in the past week, including demands by a representative of the Texas Democratic party to kill all NRA members.

But if you actually read the press release, that I have linked in 4 different places, you will see that they are actually offering a solution. One that has been requested by leading members of the Democrat party, like Barbra Boxer.

  • 12.21.2012 4:52 PM PDT

Video games weren't the problem , but rather the mental issues that the parents suppressed, and the fact that their guns were not locked up.

I didn't read the press releases and I don't have any interest to read it and yes the media would already be on them this is a give. I was just saying they are trying to deflect some of the heat off them.

How about placing blame where it's really deserved?

Bad parents, that don't teach their children or look after them.
Ignorance.
Lack of mental healthcare, or the poor quality of mental healthcare.

It was less of an effort to deflect the heat, as it was an effort to highlight some of the blatant hypocrisy that surrounds a lot of media. That the people who put out violent movies, games, tv shows, etc... are usually the first people to scream anti-gun rhetoric when violence occurs.

By perpetrating a violent culture, then -blam!-ing about violence in the world.

He didn't deliver it in the best way. In fact I felt it was the weakest part of his speech. While it had a point, it was just badly delivered. A notation that people are ultimately responsible for their actions, and that we need better ways to help those who need help would have been far more effective.

This media section has headlined the entire press release. How many reports on their proposal have you seen? The Shield Program is something a lot of people already agree with. An effort to get trained security guards on campus. Yet how many people are talking about that now?

Stupid. Not only is the whole "Violent video games bad for children" the silliest load of nonsense and ignorance around, but Adam Lanza was 20 years old, not a child, so why the heck are they investigating violent video games 'In the wake of the conneticuit shooting'?

The most dangerous gunslinger in the west.

So now even major organizations are children and play the blame game?

Oh, the immaturity.

  • 12.21.2012 5:59 PM PDT

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

I don't know whats more entertaining here, the people that still blame legal gun sales for gun violence, or the people that act like the NRA is the first group to throw violent video games under the bus for gun violence.

"It's not the loose gun regulations we profit from, it's some other industry."

Look at the parties blaming games. Funny how they have a vested interest in the status quo.
