We sell all other animals besides Lobsters and muscles dead because its animal cruelty and all that fun stuff.

So why is the practice of buying lobsters alive to kill them still allowed? I wouldn't expect to go in McDonalds and pick out a cow to be killed.

No.

Lobsters aren't technically animals. They're a distant cousin of the cockroach, and no one cares about trading bugs alive.

Lobsters have to be cooked alive in order to eat them.

Shakes Magic 8 Ball

You don't reheat lobster... It's one of those things you cook once, then eat right after.

It's okay to eat fish because they don't have any feelings.

Well it's going to have to die at one point. They might as well leave the killing for later to keep the lobster fresh.

Cows have more complex nervous systems that allow feelings of pain. Fish and crustaceans generally do not. Lobsters do not have the capacity to feel pain.

Lt. Dan I brought you some ice cream. Lt. Dan.. ice creaaam!

Because lobsters can be easily cooked, whereas Cows are very large animals and not as easy to turn into food quickly.

I, personally, find that wrong.

But whatever.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

If you kill a lobster before boiling it, you'll get poisoned.

Your presence here is quite unneeded. Begone you!!!

Why? I bet Burger King would allow me. After all....they let you have it your way

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I like to know my lobster is fresh.

Wat. Of course they're animals. All insects are animals. You might be thinking of mammals or something.

  • 12.21.2012 1:45 PM PDT

It's true. Look it up, they're Crustacean. Crustacean is an offshoot of the Cockroach.

Yes, they're still animals. But let's be honest, would you care about selling insects alive for food?

If that is true...I guess I can put up with the practice, I just hate seeing them stuffed in tanks waiting to be bought.

So it's not true then. They ARE animals. So you were wrong and should be ridiculed.

  • 12.21.2012 1:48 PM PDT

Oh don't give me that. No one cares about bugs. The only pet bugs I've ever seen is a pet Spider and a pet Coconut Crab.

No, that's not how arthropod evolution went at all.
OT: It doesn't bother me, lobsters have no capacity for pain and I don't throw them in the pot myself.

  • 12.21.2012 1:59 PM PDT

But it's true. They're cousins. They both come from the Myriapoda Family.

EDIT: Whoops, saw my mistake, I apologize. You are indeed correct PunxsatownPhil.

Snookie would agree with you.

I mean, they're alive when you kill them. That's horrible.
