Anything from Warhammer 40k would essentially ROFLSTOMP the Halo universe if it's only UNSC and Covenant.

And the flood. And probably the forerunners, though that'd be a tad more evenly matched.

From what I heard, Forerunners actually can roflstomp 40k empires.

Maybe some of the low end races like the Tau or even the Orks.

Necrons destroy them utterly though, and the Imperium has a good chance too.

Orks? Low end race?
LOL.
If all the Orks formed a WAAAGH! The Forerunners doesn't stand a single chance.
They will fight against a centillion of Orks.

orks are also one of the most powerful psykers in the universe. All they need to do is believe something and it works.

EX: there is no noise in space but the orks are too stupid to know that, so they think that their spaceships make noise. Since they believe that their spaceships make noise, it makes noise.

  • 12.21.2012 2:22 PM PDT

The Tau are pretty worthless.

Hell, they're not even as powerful as the Covenant. The Covenant have the ability to destroy planets, and the UNSC developed the Tritium Warhead. Tau don't got nothin' on that.

  • 12.21.2012 2:23 PM PDT

That sounds like BS.

Exactly.
Orks are so stupid that they think by painting skulls on their bombs, it's more powerful.. But guess what? Thanks to Waaagh! It will actually be more powerful. It doesn't make sense but if the Orks believe the bomb will be deadlier if you paint skulls on it, it WILL be deadlier. Another example, if Orks believe a vehicle goes 200 mph instead of 100 by painting it red, the vehicle will go 200 mph.

Arn't the Tau actually more powerfull than the imperium.

Orks lack individual psychic power, being denied such abilities by the Old Ones. However, they do have a sort of collaborative, collective psychic ability, meaning that if enough Orks believe something is true, then it will actually become so, brought into power by their gestalt psychic ability. For example, Ork rockets painted yellow create bigger explosions, simply because the vast majority of Orks think they do. This is also why much of the Orks' seemingly ramshackle technology will do terrible damage in the hands of Orks, but will cease to function when used by other races.

No, not at all. They are a minor inconvenience to the Imperium right now.

Oh god, not even close. Sure they're more advanced in some areas, but they lack the applications to their technology to match the Imperium.

Plus, there's the fact that in an entire sector of Tau space, there are less Tau then there are on a single Imperial world.

  • 12.21.2012 2:27 PM PDT

Still, Tau would most likely win this, with ships capable of taking on Imperium vessels, they would cruising around with an average sub light speed of .75C and multi-petaton weapons.

I still like the concept of "The Greater Good," wish the imperium would adopt something like that.
