Why don't we just share the hill?

Why is the word g(a)y filtered? It's not a curse word or offensive in any way. This should be changed, even though it wont be.

*I moved this here because it's relating to B.net rather that Off Topic.*

The list was not created by Bungie, I forget who but everything on the filter is their doing.

Real account.

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Actually, it can be used as a derogatory remark.

And I do believe Bungie didn't make the list of censored words.

Indeed, and as we all know, a lot of users here would use it such a manner.

Calling someone that may offend them. Nowadays meaning of words change and so it might turn into something bad or offensive, for insistence "-blam!-" used to mean unusual or weird but now it means ghey. Same thing happened with this word it went from happy to a word used for people who are attracted to opposite gender.

Bungie is using Microsoft's filter list and Bungie (forgot who or where) stated that it is very difficult to change the filter list

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

Yes but for a website overhaul I don't think Bungie would still abide to Microsoft's rules, considering the two companies have nothing to do with each other now.

Like other people have said, Bungie didn't make the list. It also can be offensive to people.

I could see them changing the list as they see fit.

But in my opinion I think Bungie will try to keep a high standard and make sure the right words will be still censored so they do not offend anyone. They will do what they feel is best though.

Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…

Wow they unlocked this.

Good decision moderators.

I have seen you future

Remember that the list was created back in 2004, and back then it was often used as a derogatory remark online. I imagine the word was censored because the prevalent use was offensive. Remember that the national attitude on homo-blam!-ity has changed drastically since 2004. I imagine that the word will not remain censored for bungie.next.

Key

Ignoring the Microsoft Standard List thing, Bungie most likely doesn't want you discussing that on their site. Tough poop. Suck it up. (Not the poop. That will probably kill you.)

Gross.

OP, it's because when it's used derogatorily, and it would be on this side, it is quite offensive to many people.

OP that counts as bypassing the filter. You should edit that out before you get in trouble.

To answer your question, what everyone else says. The list was created by Microsoft.

And here, it's used as an insult than anything, not worth the trouble to edit the list.
