Lost in translation

yeah yeah yeah i know cost varies by artist, but can any knowledgable person give me a rough estimate on how much this tree tat would cost to get? I'd also probably only get it half that size as I wouldn't want it going up my entire forearm like that.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

Probably about $400 to $600 dollars. That looks like (at the size you indicated) that would be about 6 hours or so of work, mainly filling in the color. So probably closer to $600 or so.

UnitedBands.net

My band and artist networking/information site. Check it out!

Kind of depends on where you live as well that determines prices. I'd guestimate around $3-400ish, then add a tip on top of that. They're not cheap by any means.

@spaboolly

Most good artists charge an hourly rate for their work, usually between $50-$150 per hour. This of course can be higher or lower, and depends on a lot of things like location (of the shop, not the tattoo itself, but some areas will cost more because of the difficulty of tattooing them), materials, etc.

For something with a lot of fine detail, like the branches on the tree, that make take a little more time.

A friendly warning though. If you get a tattoo done in all black, be sure to take extra good care of it. ALL tattoos must be properly cared for during the healing period (about two weeks on average, but depends on the person of course) but tattoos with large sections of nothing but black ink tend to scab easily. If it's not done well and carefully healed, it can end up looking blotchy. Just something to consider. If you do get that tattoo, I would suggest asking the artist beforehand if they offer free or discounted touch ups on recent work that heals poorly.
