To be honest, other than CoD I have no interest whatsoever in other military-esque or "realistic" First Person Shooters.

System Shock was an adventure game, System Shock 2 was an RPG. The article says System Shock was an FPS. Neither games were FPS'.
They are first person, and you use guns, but it's the same Deus Ex. The game doesn't focus around it.

Also, Dishonored isn't an FPS.

When CoD 4 invented the Create A Class system, people swamped to it and left everything else behind as secondary. It's been this way ever since.
