I am not going to settle for a coexistence ending like in the Matrix Trilogy. They came to our home land, wiped out many of our other planets. And what have we done to them to deserve it? Nothing, some BS lie that Truth made them believe about the halo rings. Too many people have died. I do not want to come to the end of the game, and have everyone say, lets just be friends. They said you will finish all your fights that were started in the first 2 Halo games. And the only way to finish this one is wipe the convenat out.

If you don't know what I mean by coexistence, look it up or watch the Matrix movies.

I actually really like that idea. It ends in an all out war. It would totally kick ass if there was no surviving race. Or the covenant won >=D

Face it, nobody cares what happens in the story now, they just want Halo 3 for the multiplayer.

A lot of people care about the storyline. If they don't, then why is the message boards flooded with speculations and theory's about what is going to happen?

But at least we may know now what you actually care about. Thanks for your useless comment. Go talk about guns or vehicles in one of the multiplayer posts.

I think MC needs to kill the Arbiter one way or another. Maybe the Arbiter is using the other humans to get to Chief. Chief finds out at the last moment and kills him in a cut scene (Makes for a more satisfying death). But the cut scene would come after you actually fought the Arbiter in some kind of way.

Well, I'm interested as to the storyline of Halo 3. Anyway, on to the original subject -

Not only is a co-existence ending ok, but it's likely as well. I think the humans could forgive the New Covenant in exchange for help with finding The Ark and preventing the activation of the Halo's.

Forgiveness is not in my vocabulary when it comes to an alien race. Forgive your fellow man yes. But if a man has committed a heinous crime, murder, -blam!- or whatnot. It's his time to go, whether you knew what you were doing was right or not. Sorry, you don't have the respect for human life then your life will be taken from you.

I'm not gonna hazard a guess until I beat M3: Infinity. It'll probably be the same as the ending to that, only replace S'pht with covie separatists, Pfhor with covenant, and Jjura(I know the spelling's wrong) with Forerunner.

Watch the Skeleton Key or The Omen.

The idea is ok. But i'd be more worried about the Flood...

I do not recall the ending of Marathon Infinity. At the time I was too young to appreciate the story behind Marathon. So I just hit the space bar until I either warped to the next level or just to get threw all that content.

.

If I recall those movies got terrible reviews and did poorly at the b.o.

Scratch that I want a Twilght Zone-esque ending were the humans join a new covenant and then begin destroying entire races based on a lie and become the exact thing they were fighting against.

I don't agree, but I know where you are coming from. Bravo, it takes balls now-a-days in this forum to voice your opinion. Ah co-existince, an awesome word, ain't it? You don't have to settle for co-existince, that is fine. I am sure what ever Bungie does, both You and I will like it. Happy stuff aside, since I don't agree I will do my best to rip your post to pieces. **Cracks Knuckles, clears throat** Look at it this way. In our Military (U.S.), our troops are trained to hate the enemy so they won't hesitate to kill when needed. I assume it is the same in the Covenant Military, Communist or not. They were just following orders, as were our troops (I'm talking Halo, now). The Prophets mis-lead the Covenant, hell, most of the Cov's Military is made up of people that don't even want to fight (Grunts, Hunters, Jackels), the Brutes and Elites, however, love to fight (besides the point). From what I have seen in Halo (and in reality), our troops don't really want to fight either, they are just forced to for survival (in Halo they are, but in reality no because the U.S. is currently running under a volunteer Military). Now that you know that neither side really wants to be fighting, I must inform you that for any Military to be successful and be able to defend it's Homestead, it's troops need to follow the orders of the Commanding Officers and trust their decisions without question (unless someone has seen something significant enough that needs to be known by the C.O. to save lives, then they need to question). The Covenant were mis-lead and being used when they attacked Earth, they were just doing what their leadership told them to do. You can't blame them for that.

Now for the Human side. We are under excellent tactical Commanders in Halo (as are the Covenant, the Elites are brilliant tacticians), and as such we have killed plenty of Covenant who I also might add don't want to be fighting in the first place. So now we are killing brothers and sisters, fathers and sons who don't actually want to be fighting. What would you want to do to the person that killed your friends and family? You would want them to suffer. This goes equally for both sides. Remember Truth planned ALL of this from the start. It is his fault, not the Covenants.

Why don't you want co-existince? You say the Covenant has killed too many of our kind. How many of them have we killed? To them, too many. Us and the Covenant Separists are in the same boat, friend. If both the Separists and Humans wish continued existince of their races, they will become allies. From what I see, it is the only way.

If Coexistence is the only way they can make an ending to Halo 3. Then don't have an ending at all, leave it up to the player/fan to decide. Like the ending of Terminator 2. Running down a highway leaving only questions to what the future will bring. But if it does end that way. Think about it. The Covenant will have the dominate race and could wipe us out at anytime if they became tired of us for one reason or another. They know everything about us and we don't even know where their home planet is. Pretty much where they come from. I think it would be a cool ending to fight of the Covenant forces from earth and then chase them back to their home planet. Or just activate the halos with only humans inside. Killing the Covenant and the Flood in one fell swoop.

You got your way to end it, and I got mine. Nothing You or I say to each other is going to change that. We can argue amongst our selves but it will solve nothing. I once said: "There is no point in arguing because everyone is always right." That still stands, good bye, friendly stranger.....

Co-Existance is a great ending for Halo 3. And besides, if the Ark is activated, then whatever is inside of it will be the only things left alive.

I am thinking that it will be victory with the Master Chief and humanity leading the way. Here is what I think the survivors may be:

- The Master Chief, six other Spartans, and an unknown number of Marines and civilians.

- The Genetic Sequencing and Materials to reproduce every known plant and creature.

- Seven Pairs of Two of every friendly Covenant.

There could be a semblance to Noah's Ark if it ends in an activation, but I don't want this thread to go nuts, so I will shy away from it as best I can.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

You sound racist!

Peace cannot be achieved by continuing to fight each other, plus more likely The Covenant would win because Humanity is almost dead!
