Shootings everywhere?

  • 12.21.2012 10:35 PM PDT

imagine if it was GTA V Marketing ?

  • 12.21.2012 10:35 PM PDT

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

This is getting out of hand.

  • 12.21.2012 10:35 PM PDT

It's not as much so that there are more shootings, it's more that media coverage has increased.

Alright, what shall the media blame this time?

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

Certainly doesn't help that the media hypes the shooters into something approaching celebrity.

Are they gonna blame GTA for this? I wouldn't be surprised.

Relevent.

I have a feeling that while this was happening there were more shootings happening around the country but we won't know about them because they go unreported.

So this will encourage more shootings?

Shootings happen daily. The media just likes to pick one and go for it. Back in Maryland there was an 18 year old boy that was shot right out front of a party in my neighborhood. Police had the entrance to the neighborhood blocked off and wouldn't let anyone leave or enter without a full search of their car because the shooter was still loose.
Never showed up on the news.

Something is making these people snap and it needs to be addressed or at least put an effort to address it. Banning everything is not a solution.

I persist too long after my own defeat,
Yet I still press forward, staggering on my feet.
But I know that my resolution will be my end.
And once I fall, I shall ruefully transcend.

As humanity struggles and falters in their own petty conflicts, I observe from the shadows of the cosmos, preparing to strike once more.

I thought we got rid of you. Anyhow do something about these shootings. You are the Didact and all.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Shootings like this happen all the time, the only reason it seems like they're breaking out everywhere is because the media realizes that these stories are sensational, so they report on them nationwide.

OK fine but the point is that people are going around shooting people. That's the part that needs to be addressed.

They're doing so, in my opinion, because they're A) mentally ill and B) want recognition/fame, something they probably haven't gotten in their life. They also probably see their lives as pretty -blam!- so if they have a way of ending that -blam!- life and getting famous, it's killing two birds with one stone (no pun intended).

I'm saying that when the media turns these shootings into huge stories and their perpetrators into some kind of twisted famous figures, it encourages other people who might have already had dangerous thoughts to carry their impulses out in an effort to "top" the last guy. That's why copycat killings happen.
