Odie's Iced Tea - $59.98

Pfhor Eternity

Marathon: Durandal: 0:36:46 (Kindergarten) WR

Why did it get so many bad reviews? Personally, I thought it was the best "LotR" film by far since it lacked the -blam!- voice of Elijah Wood.

I mean, even aside from whatever reason the critics didn't like it, it was still a very well produced movie. Costumes, CGI/Special Effects were all top notch yet it got such low scores?

#1 Legendary ODST Firefight Highscore

[UNINTELLIGIBLE > INSUBORDINATION(?)]

I thought it was great.

Take me into your heart! Accept me as your savior! Nail me to the -blam!- cross, and let me be reborn!

People didn't like:

-CGI
-High Frames
-Not like LotR
-Pacing

These are some of the main reasons I see when looking at negative reviews for the movie.

“Dear humanity, we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the corps just blew up our raggedy ass fleet!” -Sgt. Johnson

I didn't expect it to be less serious than the LotR movies. I haven't read any of the books, so maybe that's how it supposed to be. I just felt that was odd is all.

The beginning was way too long. Plus, the Fellowship of the Ring was by far the best LotR film.

  • 12.22.2012 12:01 AM PDT

I loved it. Screw the critics, your opinion is what counts.

I don't understand how people can dislike a higher framerate. That's just nonsensical to me.

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

I loved the beginning. The introduction of Middle Earth history is just too cool.

Death to rank junkies.

Again, all members of the hate bandwagon deserve a good punch to the gut.

Austin O'Brien

Fellow ship of the ring is one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. The Hobbit though was awesome and not boring.

3rd edition. Now with more grunt.

TFS 4 lyfe

As much as I loved it, they butchered most action scenes by making them overly long and ridiculous.

I don't think the fellow playing Bilbo fit the role very well. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't great either.

Some of the comedy is too modern, and feels out of place.

Some of the dwarves looked like short Men of Rohan, and Thorin looked like he was trying to be Aragorn. Also, why didn't the dwarves have their cloak and hat?

Otherwise the movie was pretty damn good. Radagast was awesome, and I love how they incorporated things from Unfinished Tales.

wat

You mean the balls joke? That was literally the only "modern" joke in it.

What balls joke?

I mean some of the comedy felt out of place, or there was too much of it. Riddles in the Dark had too much of a light feel to it, and was too fast paced. It should have had a slower feel to it, and it should've been building suspense.

The croquet joke. "Wonderful game, if you got the balls for it"

I felt the comedy was fine, the book is incredibly light hearted.

I suppose the seen was maybe a little too light-hearted, but that's really a small complaint because otherwise the scene was perfect.

The scene was not perfect, it could have followed the book much more closely. There are a bit too many jokes in that scene for my taste.

The Hobbit is light hearted, but not incredibly so, it's not a child's fairy tale even if he did originally write it for his kids.

Like I said though, the movie was good and I'm pumped for the next part.

The whole book is deep.

What does a child know about taking or not taking a life? That's early on in the book.

A child can read that, but only some people will truly understand it.

Yeah but there are lots of little things like that in children's books/movies/tv shows. They're still childish things.

The Hobbit isn't a "childrens book" in the sense that, say, Harry Potter is or Where the Wild Things Are is; but it's undoubtedly light-hearted and childish.
