Subject: Road Trip!

I take short road trips (3 hours) to the town where I went to college but it's been awhile since I've been down there. Some friends and I used to take road trips to Oklahoma (again, only a few hours) for camping/fishing trips.

Longest drive I've ever taken by myself was about 11 hours nonstop.
Spring time! Meet us in the town you went to college in. MUCH CLOSER!

11 hours nonstop? Surly you stopped to potty.

Will do. Just let me know when you guys are down there. I did stop to put gas in my tank and use the restroom but I didn't take any extended stops.

If it were just Mr Camm and I, we could get to our destination a lot quicker. We usually have to tack on a couple of hours to our ETA with the little one.
Stop every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. So time consuming.

Yeah little ones tend to do that.

"Are we there yet?"

There's a word for what I am, but I can't pronounce it.

BFA, CCS - olde and bony & one minute musings.

Thanksgiving a few years back, a two day drive from Michigan to South Carolina. Going through West Virginia and Charleston was such a striking contrast from home. It was worth it.
Oh man. Despite how almost everyone I know feels, I absolutely love driving through WV. It's incredibly beautiful to me.

It's a photography goldmine. I'll sympathize with the Ohio traveler's boredom and grind, but West Virginia is great (if you're cool with heights).

Well, Longest I've been in a vehicle non stop is 16 hours.
Longest I've gone by vehicles is about 25 hours over 2 days
Longest I've driven solo is 9 hours

I love road trips, it's the nonstop solo driving that's bad

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

What's the farthest you've been in a vehicle?

I had to make a trip to Virginia once. It took about 13-15 hours, give or take.

Any places you absolutely hate having to drive through?
All of Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia. I make a point to avoid them if I can.

Enjoy road trips? Hate them? How often do you take them?
Hate them. I only take road trips when I absolutely have to. My butt is still sore from the six hours in a car on Thursday.

Furthest I've been : Either Germany to Ireland or Brittany to Barcelona and back.

I love road trips, haven't been on one for a while though.

One road trip I hate taking is up to Northern Ireland and back, it's just so uninteresting.

I'm actually not cool with heights but for some reason I feel incredibly comfortable driving on those winding roads.
Ohio just feels so damn long. There's also what seems to be a lot of construction. Then again we go through Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati. It's just a pain.

I feel sorry for Ohioans in general, Michiganders are a close second.

Talk about boredom!
Dat trip from Houston to Las Vegas!
*gouges eyes out thinking about it*
Though it was worth it in the end, that trip was by far the worst trip evar!

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Posted by: Achronos
Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

Let me tell you guys, there is absolutely nothing like driving from one side of the country to the other.

Started here
Through the northern rivers
To Sydney
Past this lake (yes that is a lakebed where the sheep are grazing)
To the national capital
Across the most boring piece of land on the planet (not a hill to be seen!)
To Adelaide
Past this (it used to be a hill twice that size, but now it's a big iron mine)
Past this (woah)
And along this
While travelling over this, the biggest, flattest piece of limestone on the planet
Visted here
And the war memorial here (where the ANZACs left to go to Gallipoli)
Walked among the treetops
And then finally made it to Perth

Two weeks straight of driving, sightseeing, visiting friends and family. But it's an experience I'll never forget.

Eventually I'll do the other half of Australia, and Victoria as well. (Yeah, I didn't even do half of Australia)

This country is freaking amazing.

That all looks incredible! I've wanted to do the same with Canada, actually. It's such a beautiful place. Australia looks gorgeous as well. Looks like you had a pretty amazing time.

As for me, the farthest I've gone is from Northern Ontario to New York state.

Traveling can be an incredible experience for sure.
It's the biggest reason why I never want to live somewhere that I already have, when moving.

Love it. Can't wait to do it overseas one day.

Yours in _Kai_

I'm on one as I post this actually, helping my girlfriends mom move. The farthest I've been was from New York where I was born and raised to Oklahoma, and then to Texas.

Do Australia. All the capital cities. Won't regret it.

Two movies you should watch: Fight Club and Pineapple Express

"Wait. What do you mean, it's dead?"
"If marijuana is not legal within the next five years I have no faith left in humanity, period. Everyone likes smoking weed. They have for thousands of years. They're not going to stop anytime soon. You know? It makes everything better. Makes food taste better, makes music better. It makes sex feel better for God's sake. It makes -blam!- movies better you know?"

I think the longest drive for me was from south east Kansas to Branson, MO. Not as long as everyone else but I always enjoy the ride. I usually just like to cruise down back roads by myself or with one other person. If I had the money I'd do it everyday.

Multi-trillionaire modern cowboy.

That's right.

I don't have a car yet. You've gotta be 18 in the Netherlands and yes, I'm a youngy.

There's always a destination, that's the thing. The Netherlands is a small country, you know? The Dutch tend not to see the sheer awesome of road trips.

Still, it's a good idea to ask one of my friends. It'll be quite the experience.
