I've been playing Halo since 2002. My earliest memories include hiding at the shotgun window on Damnation and killing my dad with grenades while playing co-op on Pillar of Autumn.

>playing Red Dead Redemption with little bro and parents in the room
>they're commenting on how realistic the game is
>they love the wild west setting
>suddenly graphic sex scene out of nowhere

Red Dead had a graphic sex scene? I don't remember that.

I was about to link it but then I realized it is exactly what it is: a graphic sex scene.

I've been so desensitized by games that I can't even think of one. There probably are some though.

No Russian didn't bother me in the slightest though.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

The Heavy Rain scene with Ethan removing the last segment of one of his fingers. It was really intense and well presented, but I still remember being shocked at how realistic it seemed.

No game has for me.

All that screaming! It is worse when he uses the saw or knife!

That part at the very end of Doom 3 where you go down to fight the cyber demon there are two upside down people crucified with their stomachs spit open. That was just a little to excessive.

"I am an enforcer man! Don't nothin' go down in my house! This 100% heart baby! Sure, I check a few fools. I give em the pain! But sometimes its about intimidation, though. It's mind games."
-Terry Tate, Office Linebacker

Being told to put the construction foreman in a hole and cover him with concrete in San Andreas. Very few things in video games disturb me but that level with a little more than unsettling.

I know! In fairness, that's one of the scenes that made me love Heavy Rain, since it sucked me in so well, but I'll never forget how horrifying it was, too.

for some reason the little quicktime event in black ops where you put glass in that guys mouth and punch him seemed ridiculous to me. Unlike mw2 and spec ops where those shocking seens have significant story purpose, that little quick time event was just needless gross violence.

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.

It was so unexpected

3rd edition. Now with more grunt.

TFS 4 lyfe

Some off the new COD quicktime events... especially the ones against the Vietnamese in BLOPS, where you kill the sleeping one. Made me hate my character, especially seeing as arguably the north vietnamese were the "good guys" in that particular conflict.

Prototype. I played it for about 25 minutes and the gore was unnecessary.

unfortunately, I wasn't able to save the quarians in ME3. That hit me hard... and the death of Mordin was also hard..

He would've liked to run tests on the seashells.

Vaporeon are highly adapted to aquatic life. Unlike its pre-evolution, it has the ability to breathe underwater. As stated previously, they have a unique molecular structure. They have the ability to "melt" into a body of water and disappear completely from view. They can also manipulate water molecules, giving them the ability to learn Water-type attacks their previous evolutions could not.

No Russia from MW2

  • 12.22.2012 10:47 AM PDT

it's just me against the world

I As far as gore goes...I can't think of a game that went to far with the gore, but Emily's comments on your activity in a high chaos playthrough of Dishonored made me feel so bad about killing.

  • 12.22.2012 11:04 AM PDT

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Gore never upsets me but No Russian made Infinity Ward look retarded, that level was ONLY about killing civilians.

the killing of a small child's parents right in front of the kid in Homefront

This screwed me up pretty good for a few minutes.

The torture chambers at the end of Amnesia were pretty bad, too.

him dying is nowhere near as sad as Shepherd shooting him. it's so depressing. Shepherd couldn't just shoot him in the head, could s/he? nope, s/he had to shoot him in such a way that he would bleed out seconds from saving a race from extinction.

if you shot him, you're worse than Hitler.

That scene from Assassins Creed Brotherhood where the Apple forces Desmond to kill Lucy.

Never. It's a videogame and my mind is able to make the difference between digital and physical violence.

Sniper elite 2 is pretty disturbing with its slow-mo gore. Other than that I would have to think really hard to come up with something. Phantasmagoria and the scene where a girl is killed by suffocating her with entrails. Yeah, that was pretty nasty.
