Had IW not completely sold itself over to Activision, how do you think the Call of Duty franchise would be different?

Probably not. They have a great formula and would have stuck to it. Not -blam!- their dedicated playerbase over by introducing new, crappy mechanics.

Thanks Bungie.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

They should have stopped at MW2.

Well the problem with that is no one wants a company to keep producing the exact same game with slight changes, and a company who actually cares about innovation won't enjoy making it either.

You named a FPS franchise that isn't respected because of what I said and then sports games. Obviously the core gameplay of a sports game can only vary so much.

And you also listed all franchises that I don't see a real selling point for buying the new game for exactly the reasons you're saying. Rebuying the same relabeled crap doesn't make sense.

Cod isn't respected? Is that why it sells a billion dollars worth of games?

And sports games are the best games on the market because they stick to core gameplay but make improvements to everything each new season.

It isn't respected because it is popular. And the butthurt Halo community can't understand that their games have gone to -blam!- since all of this supposedly "good" change.

And they come out with those sports games every year, basically with only updated rosters. Yet they still sell a -blam!-load of copies. So that fits into the definition you provided.

and before you call me a CoD fanboy, I haven't played since MW2.

Not contributing and only saying adapt is a good way to lose your member title.

Meepzoid

Realistically; No one would want to publish their game and they would have gone under.

No I'd just like to know how "adapt" is a good point.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Activision bought IW after the first COD which didn't sell very well, without Activision buying them there would only have been one Call of Duty.

It got raving reviews and became very popular...not sure where you have been looking at sales figures for it at.

By the gods what are you doing here, well don't just stand there man make the tea! Make yourself useful and look at my Fileshare.

considering IW was half gutted after MW2 by activision, probably yes, MW3 wouldn't have been such a pathetic attempt.

CoD should just be made by Treyarch instead of IW making anymore, Treyarch can make one good CoD. Examples: WaW, Blops ect....
