Sitting with a K/D of 2.99 and a W/L of 55% (LolJIP). I feel like this so-called trueskill 343 have been bragging about hardly exists. I've accumulated almost 12000 kills and I still myself paired up against a team of guests. I look at the lobby and I wonder, is this truly my opposition?

I don't mean to brag, just bringing my stats in just so you guys can have a general idea of where I stand. No, I don't kill-farm, I usually adapt to my surroundings as quickly as possible. Trueskill hardly existed in Halo Reach and I feel the same can be said for Halo 4.

Also, with Halo 4 been out for over a month, where does your K/D stand and your W/L, if possible?

Opinions are like butholes. Everyone's got one, nobody wants to hear about it.

This.

Also, aren't they launching a playlist that incorporates skill (i.e 1-50 in Halo 3)?

Yeah, but I've registered almost 900 games (Counting with the JIP games as well.) You think you would see a difference in opposition.

Random ordnance drops and seeing through walls does take some uber-skill. You're just that good.

Does it matter? Why does everybody care so much? It's a video game, does it really matter how much 'skill' it takes? I really don't give two -blam!-s about how much skill it takes to play a game I just care if I can play the game and enjoy playing it. But people have to make such a big deal of this 'skill'

This crap infuriates me sometimes. It makes me wonder how I've stomach with this game for so long.

Note: In a 4v4 setting, TrueSkill takes roughly 100 games to accurately rank you.

Even if TrueSkill is being used, there's still the matter of how it's being used. For the sake of speed, the game isn't going to try and find a match of five people who are each individually within five ranks of you to play. H3 was like this. I remember complaints about matches taking forever to find.

It's going to find two bad people, two good people and four average people and try to get the average TrueSkill between the two teams roughly equal.

We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle our flag will be recognized throughout the world as a symbol of freedom on the one hand and of overwhelming force on the other.

Honestly and truthfully the people that play this game are for the most part bad players. The days of people playing Halo with a conviction to come out on top and win are over. People play to dress their character up and paint their guns.

Its different now. For the people like you, who play with some competitive passion in mind (obviously) it seems as if you're playing thumbless zombies who only run in straight lines on one axis.

I hear ya. Either way, a K/D that high is impressive.

I hope you realize that fun is subjective. Most people want to have competitive matches, that's their definition of "fun".

I wish I was that lucky; my first game I smashed everyone and went 40-2 and now I'm paired with SR 90's and have been losing game after game.

I may not be referring to you when I say this, but people let their opinion of the game be dictated by the amount of skill it takes. I truthfully did not read the thread and now that I have read it, I realize I made a completely unrelated reply. My apologies.

Winning is pointless in Halo 4, especially with this retarded JIP in effect. I've came across multiple SR130's and quite frankly, most of them suck monkey balls.

That's TrueSkill at work.

When you started, the game had no idea your skill, so when you went curb stomping on people, it said "Dam, he must be really good! Let's raise his rank really high."

It doesn't know that score was a fluke because you were an average/above average player playing below/well below average players. Over time it will realize that score was a fluke and won't swing your TrueSkill so wildly about.

Apology accepted. To be fair, I just merely a casual player looking for all types of fun. I like to win. I like to goof around with friends. I don't mind a loss or 2, but losing 5 or more is unacceptable. And I experiment with different things, believe me, when you see me on Halo MM, especially Halo 4 or Reach. I won't always use the most powerful precision weapon, I will use underrated, and most often, underpowered weapons just for the hell of it.

I'm a weird individual, that's pretty much it.

I mostly play Dominion just because it reminds me of Invasion, but I've played well over 400 games (I think?) and I rarely come across good individuals, maybe once or twice, but it's been mostly average players and guests. The population sits at around 2000, so you think the TS system would calculate everyone's skill levels, right?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

There's such a huge skill gap in Halo 4 it ain't even funny. Thats why I loved the new matchmaking system in Black Ops 2
