Subject: Should The Flood Forum be broken down into 'Sub Forums'?

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

This idea is as stupid as you claim the threads in the Flood to be.

seeing as the numerous x vs. y threads spawned in The Flood has caught the attention of BUNGiE.net Community, an idea of breaking down Off Topic: The Flood into Sub Forums occurred to me so people who get annoyed at certain threads will be satisfied

yay or nay?
Bungie has forums for the community to discuss Bungie related topics. The off-topic forum on Bungie.net helps prevent members from posting off-topic in other forums dedicated to specific topics. Creating a group is a great alternative if you want a forum dedicated to a specific topic. Improving the search feature would resolve the issue of people being annoyed by certain threads. I assume the new website will have a better way for members to sort and filter content so they see only what they want to see.

I don't see a problem that needs to be addressed. I'm afraid your idea wouldn't work well.

  • 12.24.2012 11:57 AM PDT

No, what's the point? It's not broken, therefore there's no need to fix it.

Doesnt matter if it is broken or not ... lets face it the mods arn't going to put in that extra effort.

Still, close down those other pointless forums related to games that bungie dont care about (hell, bungie even say so in the header of each post you make) ... and the Crimson forum - honestly, bungie has abandoned the project why not just close the forum and bury the embarrassment.

Guess its just not part of the master plan.
Cant see the new title being hosted in this site, bungie are going to want something clean and free of its past.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

No, that would ruin the overall meaning of the flood forum.

The Secret Society 95% of activity is me, I could use some help.

No, this is a video game developer's website, the focus should be Bungie, not off topic.

Absolutely not.

No. You can complain about repetitiveness when you go a whole year in almost nothing but The Septagon while Bungie is dark. The Flood is a never ending random topic generator compared to this place.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Never ever shall it ever.

But ironically ... their new game will not be appearing here ... they dont want it tainted with the past.

Plus kinda think you missed that point a while back were the whole forum went off topic.

"You get what you put into it."

When Legendary is too mainstream, you have Heroic. When you're the leader of the church of MLGeezus, have Epic in your username, and can't write 'About Me's' to save your life, what do you get?

This guy. And now, an side note: Most things I post contain lethal doses of sarcasm, so be warned, and try not to take me seriously.

Finally, a message to Bungie trolls everywhere.

I'm a Floodian, and I do not approve of this idea. It'd be a nightmare to control.

First, off Crimson wasn't a failure. I thought it was good.

Second, I have full confidence that Bungie will create the next biggest title, or at least something awesome. They're Bungie, for Bungie's sake. HAve a little faith. They aren't dark, they're just preparing to blossom again with ridiculous amounts of awesome.

ooga booga boooh

4 year floodian here.

I actually like this idea, somewhat. Do I think that all of the categories are necessary? Erm, maybe not. Especially "y vs x" and "girl advice". However, I think having a "video game general" forum apart from the regular discussion might actually be rather nice.

I don't think it would work now, though. While the Flood is steady in it's traffic, it isn't exactly busy enough to warrant these things. When Destiny comes out? I could see it working much, much better. An idea that might actually work I have thought of may be:

-Consolidate the Halo game forums into Bungie Universe
-Leave all other forums as is
-Video game general
-Flood

It's just an idea, at least. Of course, Bnext will be here soon, right? So, may it isn't worth the "hassle". (I can't say I know how much hassle it would be, as I am no programmer)

Who said that (Invisible Voice)? - lol.

Now Crimson.
Think you are getting confused between 'Crimson Steam Pirates' (a Harebrained Schemes game), and a trademarked name 'Crimson' which was lodged and later abandoned when it was found to conflict with existing use. It was the aerospace project which was meant to promote both ... but this too has also been abandoned.
By any standard, a mobile platform publisher who can only get one title in two years is a failure - bungie obviously thought so given they have abandoned all hope.

And next title.
No one disputes they are creating a title, and given Activision has already paid out an advance on future sales I guess they will be upset to hear otherwise.
Wasnt disputing the game ... only that bungie will not be hosting it here. Like the whole areospace (aka waste-of-space) experience, bungie will abandon this site and setup a fresh image which is not tainted by their past.

In which case ... time to focus on whats left and restructure it into some sub forums.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Horrible idea. Why would you want to divide the community into smaller segments?

Your opinion of a game does not equate to whether or not it was a failure.

for Bungie's sake.......I have no words

They aren't darkYes they are.

Wheres Meh Sniper?

Youtube page

Nope, one place for all the madness is good.

  • 12.26.2012 5:16 PM PDT

Sorry, but I don't like the idea.

I believe the Flood forum is perfectly fine as it is, despite all the hate it receives from the commoners of ranting.

  • 12.26.2012 6:23 PM PDT

Man of God. Fan of Bungie. Eater of many Jr. Bacon cheeseburgers.

I think that's a bit too much. I get the point but I disagree simply because the Flood doesn't have so much activity that it's out of control.

  • 12.26.2012 7:07 PM PDT

This isn't a site designed for Off-Topic Discussion. This would be taking it too far, leave The Flood how it is (whatever that may be).

  • 12.26.2012 9:57 PM PDT

No, ruins what the flood has always been. Unorganized random content.

I like the idea of the Video Game General, I cannot stand the recent insurrection of Halo 4 threads.
