Being alone.
You're a mod, you should be used to that.

This is what I automatically think of.

While this one isn't 100% true, it's what I think of when I see members debating back and forth for hours over something they have no control over ( not that they couldn't affect it in some way, they just choose not to and rant online about it).

In the end, this relates to almost every controversial thread in the sense that I don't see it being logical to sit here for hours debating back and forth with the opposing side when they will probably not change their stance and you just end up wasting a few hours of your time. If you honestly believe that something should change, don't make a thread about it just to incite other members into a debate that will never see an end until one gets tired or the Moderators come in. Go out and do something about it, because debating about it here is like having a piece of trash on the floor and arguing with your buddy who should pick it up (while trying to one-up each other in the environmentalist department) when , in the end, neither of you pick it up.
I know most of you will be annoyed by this thread, honestly I don't care.

To add discussion value, what are your views on controversial threads within the flood?

I don't play "hide-and-seek", I play "hide-and-hope-I-don't-find-you."

Guns are good, mmkay?

So discussing something is pointless because I have no control over it.

OP are you slow?

My reading abilities are fine thank you.

But to say that discussing something has no effect on how society will deal with it is just plain out wrong. Not a little wrong, not almost wrong. Wrong!

You're still not catching on. Tell me, what do you gain from sitting here and getting flustered because someone doesn't see your way and getting into a debate for hours on end (refer to the celebrities thread for an example)? The only thing that could possibly come out of that is gaining knowledge to debate more in the future, my point stands, go out and do something about it. While it wouldn't be easy but you can still make a difference.
