When you kill sombody or somthing should it go into ragdoll physics and fly around like in halo2 or should it be if you shoot sombody in the shoulder should they grab it and fall over on the ground.

please post any other ideas

I think a wide variety of death physics should be implemented in the game. For example, if you get shot in the head with a sniper rifle, you should immediately fall to the ground dead. If you get shot in the leg, then your character should limp slightly. Or if you get shot at the edge of the cliff, you should tumble off instead of having your body half on/half off the cliff.

The best "Death Physics" includes a combination of rag doll and animation, not one or the other.

and if you get sniped in the air you shouldnt wave youre arm around but just go limp

the only thing about this is that the master chief has SHEILDS. I couldn't really see this done in multiplayer but MaYbE in Campaign...

They should at least make it so that when you are killed in the air you don't swing you arms. If you fall to your death though you should swing your arms. Sniping someone as they jump and they start swinging their arms, it's like "whoa, I though he was dead!"

Actually Halo 2's spartans only had ragdoll physics when you killed him by doing a headshot with a rifle. If you kill him with an automatic gun he will just fall on the ground with an animation, and if you kill him with an explosion the body will move with an animation and basic physics assigned to the whole body and not to each seperate member like in ragdoll. Samething for the dead bodies as the explosives. The original Xbox physics were limited by it's 733MHz processor. Now that Halo 3 is on Xbox 360, I'd like it to use a lot more ragdoll. SMG kills should still use an animation but explosives and all that makes bodies fly should use ragdoll deaths.

That would be nice also if you shooted someone with a strong weapon like the Warthog's turret, the AR or the sniper rifle you see the ennemy have recoil at the spot where he gets the bullets impact, only when his shield is down.
Example: [Ennemy's shield is down] You shoot a burst with the AR in the ennemy's left shoulder and his left shoulder actually move back on the bullets impact.

They need to make it so that when you mellee some one with a brute shot or energy sword that it will slice there body part off. And when you die the screen should fade out. This would keep little 5 year olds away from halo.

whats with the severe spasms though. Maybe they should have a self-destruct mechanism in the MJOLNIR's, so that MC dying would help more.

But seriously, he should be legally dead, but just faltering, and eventually falling. If he gets shot in the leg, he should move slower on that leg until he dies.

ragdoll physics in halo 2 blowed... I honestly felt more impressed with the way the spartans died in halo1 than halo 2.. Not bashing on halo 2.. its a great game, but the way the spartans died was absolutely stupid.... I felt like a doll when i died. What happened to the legendary "AHHH" when i died or got stuck from a plasma grenade??? They should make the deaths to where its realistic, not ragdoll, but dont make it to where if you got shot in the leg, you are going to run slower... Come on ppl, you want a video game to be that realistic...Iand would take away the fun, at least, IMO. ITS A GAME, SOME OF IT HAS TO BE FAKE IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE FUN!!!

mayb when you die, you aimlessly fire your weapon like in the campaign when u kill an enemy... but, i dont want chunks of body falling off

not necessarily chunks of body, but maybe more interactivity, like death animations relating to the causes of death (ie sniper headshot = blasted backwards)
Also, when you die, you fall through any interactive object on the map. (dont believe me? stand on a hog and have a friend kill you) They need to fix that.
