Jul.

Jul's good too, from what I can tell (I haven't read the Kilo Five books). An Elite that can think for himself is quite interesting.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

He should've been Halo 4's main badguy for most of the game IMO.

He'd do as hell of a lot better than this halfassed randomly evil Didact.

But I guess since we got that little sliver of Covenant campaign 6 years ago in Halo 2, it filled the alien story quota in Halo for all eternity.

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

343 Guilty Spark

  • 12.23.2012 3:51 AM PDT

I change shapes just to hide in this place but im still im still an animal...

Didact, has an awesome voice, kick ass armour, and he's pretty relatable, if you think about it he's just a bad ass conservationist.

  • 12.23.2012 3:52 AM PDT

Humanity.

  • 12.23.2012 4:21 AM PDT

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

I feel like the Didact fills in the role as villain very nicely. So I vote him.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

halfassed randomly evil Didact.

How exactly is the Didact "halfassed" when he's been developed as a character since 2007 before Halo 3 was even released where he and the Librarian were the main focus of the Terminals' story? Not to mention that trilogy of novels where he plays a prominent role too...

(Oh and nobody even think of criticising the Didact's motives being in extra fiction, especially if you've said that Truth is the best antagonist, because Truth's motives are ONLY explored in the novel Contact Harvest while in the game he simply fulfils the role of being the leader of the "DEATH TO HUMANS" wagon. As well as Tartarus, and especially 343 Guilty Spark, who was treated as a complete joke before he was actually developed in CEA's Terminals.)

He wasn't "randomly evil" either, his progression is made quite clear in both the main campaign of Halo 4 and the Terminals. Driven to desperate measures to stop the Flood, he convoluted his perception of the Mantle which made him believe that what he was doing was right by using the Composer on humanity to face a threat it seemed to him that only he could see.

OT: Gravemind > 343 Guilty Spark > Didact > Jul > Truth

"Time was your ally human. But now it has abandoned you. The Forerunners....have returned. And this tomb... is now yours". - The Didact

Regret is an arrogant fool.
So is mercy.
And how did truth got all the votes? Which sane person would give the vote to an idiot snake who has crashed his own empire by pulling a huge middlefinger to the Elites. If he never betrayed the sangheili, then the Covies would have won. He's weak, a liar and the most incompetent character of the entire Halo universe.

343 guilty spark: I love him, but i can't see him as a villian as the poor AI was just following the protocol. And he comes from Chakas for -blam!-s sake :(

Ripa: He's huge and powerful looking, but won't get my vote cuz of his incompetence.

Tartarus: Well i prefer Elites over Brutes, so suck it savage of Diosac

For me the vote goes to either the gravemind or the Didact. One of them has succesfully taken down entire species and empires and is the product of the Gods of the Halo verse. The other has exterminated the entire human race which the Covies could only dream of. To add salt into the wound, he has reduced a once proud human race into a bunch of monkey's used for experiments. He managed to create thousands of shield worlds in SECRET which took a -blam!-TON of recourses to do. And he has lured the most beautiful Forerunner female into his bed.

All i can say is.
Halo ancient villians>>>>>>contemporary villians

Though Jul Mdama is has some insane intelligence that most zealot Covies lacked which is why he get's many plus points from me.

Meepzoid

Going to go with the Gravemind.

-The three prophets were pathetic.
-Tartarus was a fun boss battle but not a smart or calculating opponent.
-I'm going to see how fleshed out the Didact will become later.
-The Halo Wars Arbiter pissed me off. He became an Arbiter because "he was too violent"? Stupid. His death was also laughable.

The Gravemind is easily the best, simply because the way he acts, he seems like the Halo version of the devil. I think its cool that Halo has such a deep character like him that can be analyzed.

"Child of my enemy..." Sort of reminds me of a religious theme of the devil calling humanity the son/s of his enemy.

"Join your voice with mine" Sort of like the devil tempting humanity.

Besides the religious undertone I also am interested in the way he talks and he actually feels like a ultimate threat.

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

Also, the actual best villain in Halo is ONI. ONI is more evil then even the Covenant, what a nasty organization it is.
