If anyone ever play the game Farcry and know the story, you'll understand me. For those who don't heres wut happens, the main character gets a experimental shot and turns into this beast, but you don't fully turn into it and you have special abilities.

In singleplayer and maybe multiplayer Master Chief will have some flood abilities like super jump, powerful melees and regenerative abilities like sgt.johnson.

Here is the scenario: The flood has reached earth, Master Chief is now defending the alien artifact near Mt. Kilimanjaro against the never ending waves of parasite. But he is soon overwhelmed and suddenly a combat form jumped on top of him and with one powerful slash on the head ; he lost his energy shielding. Now vulnerable, infection forms crawled all over his body, one broke through his armor around his neck and penetrated his skin with the tentacles. Master Chief passes out....

John slowly opened his eyes and looked around in the dark and recalling what has happened. Wondering if he's dead... He woke up seeing sgt. Johnson in a field medical center. Johnson told him that they found him laying unconscious on the desert floor and he’s recovered extremely fast for the wounds he received.

Master Chief goes into a mission fighting the covenant, he finds out that he can jump high than the 3 meters the Spartans can all ready. He can jump like the flood. His shield gets taken down and takes a plasma shot to the chest, he feels the jolting pain, but it soon went away. He now has regenerative abilities like the flood. His senses will be greatly improved. He is invisible to the flood because they think they're the same kinds. With these abilities, it makes him stronger than ever.

I think the flood is either a hit or miss. Either you are a flood, and you get the abilities, or you are not a flood and you are normal. There is no inbetween.

Sgt. Johnson has a disease so his DNA is not compaitable with Flood DNA, so HE has some flood abilities, read the books it says so.

Master Chief can already jump high, already has powerful melees and also has regenerative capabilities.

That's true, but then again I recall that Bungie is shooting for "sprinting" this time, so let's all hope for that. (I know I will)

I played this horrible game called Area 51 or something along those lines. Exact same story idea. This dude gets like bitten by an alien, and he like starts eating people... very odd. But i think that would totally kill the story. It's more of a Win or Lose story, not a become the enemy to defeat the enemy story.

Also Johnson has regenerative abilites, he might not have 50ft jumping, but that might just be him. Anyways, i'm pretty sure chief would become 100% flood.

Well... It's possible. One of the people in Halo: The Flood was infected by a weakened infection form, and he could half-control his actions. If the MC was infected by a barely-alive one, he would be able to do that... still a longshot, tho.
