Subject: What's your opinion on the Boltshot

Still better than you.

.....most of you, at least.

I wasn't killed by it any more often than any other weapon, only when I was being dumb. I like the gun, and think it's fine, and if you get killed by it too much, then stop running around corners for the love of god.

It's a shotgun.

You should not spawn with a shotgun.
It literally has beat the scattershot, shotgun, and sword... it needs a patch very soon. Just decrease the range a lot, make it a 5 feet kill.

-I was here

I don't use it, nor have I noticed that those who use it do particularly bad or good.

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

i would like to be able to hold the charge a little longer, its simply not worth it. and its default fire mode is underpowered.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

so even though the "overpowered" option has the most, none of them has posted as to why it's overpowered.

Because it's not. With the charge time, limited holding of that charge, glowing of the gun, and the noise of charging, it becomes pretty easy to recognize and avoid. With the 593 games I've played and the 4461 deaths I have, the Boltshot equates to less than 2% of my deaths. I'll never understand why people believe it to be overpowered.

You say "glowing of the gun" as if that is somehow supposed to make it more balanced.

I don't care if it's glowing. If you are close enough to see it glowing you're dead.

That's like saying, "Armor lock was totally balanced because the user turned blue."

What?

What?

All I'm saying is that it's pretty easy to detect and avoid those who use the Boltshot.

Maybe I'm playing in some alternate dimension where enemies' Boltshots are nerfed, but I'm not dying by them. As I said, less than 2% of my deaths are from them. That's pretty damn low for a supposed "overpowered" weapon that everyone can have on spawn.

I feel it should have it's range lowered a tiny bit simply because it can kill in one shot and seems to shoot a bit farther than the shotgun...or at least it seems to shoot farther than it to me.

That's the problem. They are a weapon available off-spawn and it's a one shot kill. I use it on all of my loadouts save Spartan Ops and it's detrimental to gameplay.

It wouldn't be overpowered as a pickup but it's a spawn weapon. The best way to avoid a boltshot is simply by assuming everyone uses it. It negates the SAW and Scattershot which is annoying when you do earn those weapons.

It's overpowered.

It also takes you by surprise.
