Subject: Would you rather play a game which is very easy or very difficult?

hmm

Depends on my mood. Though usually I prefer something challenging.

A game which offers very little to no challenge for you to play and beat,

Damn. You described Skyrim perfectly. Anyway I would rather have a very difficult game. There's no fun in playing a game I can't beat with my eyes closed. And never get better at it because of that. Look at Skyrim. It's hard to get better at it when it's holding your hand the entire time.

Difficult. There is nothing more annoying than a complex game with tactics, potions, magic, attachments, enhancements, skills etc that are completely worthless because the game is so easy.

You also described Skyrim perfectly.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You are so edgy.

How am I being edgy? Bethesda removed most of the things in the last 2 games that made them challenging and they added things to make them easier. It got even worse in Skyrim.

-There's no such thing as cause and effect in the games anymore. Let's take the guilds in Morrowind if you joined the Thieves Guild you couldn't join the Fighters Guild.

-They still haven't made a good guild setup. I start out at the lowest rank something happens and I become the leader of it. No matter how experienced the other people there are or how long they been there. I still end up becoming the leader of it. That would be like me join the army. I start out as a private a war breaks out and at the end of it I become a 4 star general. Even though there are officers there that are a higher rank than me and are more experienced than me. I still become that general.

The other thing about the magic school is that my character sucks at magic. So why the hell would he become the leader of that magic school when everybody there is better than him? It's because I found a magic ball and killed that High Elf guy. Each guild should have different ending and outcomes. Depending on the choices I make and my experience.

-In Skyrim the dungeons and caves are are set up like train tracks. For example if you go into a cave you just have to keep going straight to find the exit. Or it circles around with a hidden doorway that takes you back to the entrance. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

I enjoy playing both, but I prefer games that are challenging.

Easy because developers don't know how to balance their own -blam!-.

Take Spartan Ops for example. A bunch of cloaked sword Elites on Everything Has Gone Wrong. Normally that wouldn't be so bad but wait, there's a cloaked fuel rod gun wielder too!

Not to mention how fast the Elites can catch up to you. You're basically forced to use the Jetpack... and the plasma pistol (for noob combo) or plasma grenades.

The last Halo game that had a decent challenge was CE. After that, it's:

-damage sponge enemies
-bottomless clip for enemies
-unavoidable projectiles from enemies (the plasma pistol homing wasn't so sharp in CE, the Shade and Banshee were less accurate, rocket launcher Flood were only a real threat if you were in a vehicle)
-1 hit kill attacks
-HUGE blast radius (Reach and Halo 4 Hunters, concussion rifle and fuel rod gun enemies)
-useless strafe for player
-extremely fast enemies
-extremely fast shield recharge rate for enemies
-mindless concussion rifle/fuel rod/needler spam
-grenade spam
-sword lunge (H4)

Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention that without Active Camo, you're pretty much screwed when playing Spartan Ops on Solo.

A difficult game where you don't die in one shot to cover up for retarded AI, but a game where the enemies and yourself have the same amount of health and damage and you have to outsmart them

Somewhere in the middle, but if the the game sounds like it has interesting story, then I'll first play on easy then on hard...

See you on the battlefield.

Hard, but fair. I like a challenge, but artificial difficulty is bull-blam!-.

I agree.

If I had to play Hard mode in most of these games that come out, I'd probably be more cynical about video games. Why can't every game handle difficulty like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta or something?

Very difficult.

I like a challenge.

Soul of the mind, key to life's ether
Soul of the lost, withdrawn from its vessel
May strength be granted so the world might be mended...
So the world might be mended...

I'd easily choose a challenging game over and easier one, as long as that challenging game doesn't have bull-blam!- things that make you fail. If it's an unbalanced frustrating mess then I'll easily say '-blam!- it' and choose a lower difficulty.

One way I get bored, and the other I toss my controller at the wall...

I'll go with the very difficult game.

the will to win is the will to destroy

difficult but in the terms of glass cannon difficulty so everyone is easy to kill including yourself like dark souls, metro 2033 or operation flashpoint/ARMA (more so ARMA)

Wheres Meh Sniper?

Youtube page

Depends if the game has replay value.

  • 12.23.2012 8:04 AM PDT

Very Easy. I don't want a challenge; I want to kill everybody!!!!

  • 12.23.2012 8:07 AM PDT

Difficulty isn't the only factor in a game.

  • 12.23.2012 8:21 AM PDT

Life?
I have the internet and Doctor Who; i don't need a life.

i'd probably enjoy the easy game more than the difficult one; if it was so difficult that i couldn't beat it.

if it's easy then i could enjoy beating it and getting 100% in it and so long as the story and gameplay aren't boring then i wouldn't really care about the difficulty.

Two movies you should watch: Fight Club and Pineapple Express

"Wait. What do you mean, it's dead?"
"If marijuana is not legal within the next five years I have no faith left in humanity, period. Everyone likes smoking weed. They have for thousands of years. They're not going to stop anytime soon. You know? It makes everything better. Makes food taste better, makes music better. It makes sex feel better for God's sake. It makes -blam!- movies better you know?"

Depends. I like games like mario sunshine and twilight princess because they're easy but I do have a competitive side and ssb and halo is where it comes out.
