After months of contemplating whether or not I should buy one, I pulled the trigger today and now it is by my side, currently updating its software. I only have Persona 4 Golden as of now, but I have a $50 PSN card and I don't know what to do with it. Should I get PS+? I heard you get pretty nice bonuses, but I'm not quite sure how it works. Would anyone care to explain?

Also, what other games should I get? I'm currently interested in Little Big Planet and Ragnarok Odyssey. Never play the old LBP games, but I have a feeling I'll like it. Ragnarok Odyssey intrigued me since I'm a Monster Hunter fan. Does it play like MH? A friend of mine said it's like a more streamlined MH. And about Virtue's Last Reward... I played 999 and I loved it. Made my college nights hell though... Should I pick this one up too?

Feel free to suggest other games.

Thanks.

My word of advice DON'T BUY CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS: DECLASSIFIED
IT SUCKS CAMEL BALLS

  • 12.23.2012 6:47 AM PDT

Don't have one, but I was gonna recommend Persona 4 Golden. The PS2 version is one of my favorite games, it's excellent.

Besides that, I've heard good things about Gravity Rush and LittleBigPlanet. Wipeout 2048 looked pretty good too, and Virtue's Last Reward is supposed to be good as well.

Mmm... I was planning to buy it with the Vita months ago, but it got delayed. I will still be buying it though. I don't really mind delays if they need to improve the game. Power to them developers for making the right decision.

After watching some gameplay vids, I think I'll get VLR. Can't wait for those sleepless nights to come...

I thought I was the only person in the world who actually played that game.

But yeah, I would go for Virtue's Last Reward.

Soul of the mind, key to life's ether
Soul of the lost, withdrawn from its vessel
May strength be granted so the world might be mended...
So the world might be mended...

Get PS+, it's the same as XBL a year and you get free games every month along with a lot of discounts on the store.

With the free games, if you stop paying for PS+ then you'll lose those games until you get PS+ again, think of it like Netflix.

Games? Not sure, sorry, if you get PS+ now you'll get about 6-10 Vita games for free.

I see. Quite interesting. I've never used Netflix before though. What if you already have PS+ on your account and you buy a few games on PSN that are discounted, will you be able to play them after your PS+ expires?

Anything you pay actual money before is yours to keep permanently, so yes, you'd keep them after PS+ expires.

This is good news. I just got PS+ a few minutes ago. I feel quite happy. Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, JetSet Radio, FFT, and Mutant Blobs all for free... Amazing. Plus, crazy discounts on games like LBP. This is starting to become my new Steam... xD

Could somebody tell me why I would want a portable game system?

Whenever I go out, it's either to go to work, go to school or socialize.

I can't play games at work
I study at school
I talk with friends and hang out and do fun stuff when with friends.

Can somebody tell me what situation besides an annual flight I would need this.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

Can it finally go on YouTube?

  • 12.23.2012 8:32 AM PDT

Think you can take me in NHL12? Send me a message/invite

I used to have a PSP..

Handheld aren't my style anymore

OT:

LBP is aweseome

I only have Persona 4 Golden

Nevermind.

I played the demo of Ragnarok Odyssey and it was pretty cool. I've also heard good things about the full game.

And personally, I'm really enjoying Dynasty Warriors Next. It's one of the best Dynasty Warriors games and it's nice to be able to just pick up and play it whenever.

Yep, and Netflix, too.

Portable handhelds are for people who frequently travel and need some sort of electronic companion to entertain them. I don't think you'd need a portable since you seem to be too busy with other things that you'll never find time to use it except at home, which ruins the point of owning a handheld. the excuse for you to own a Vita is probably Persona 4 Golden if that's your thing. It's that good. For the 3DS, Zelda Ocarina of Time if you never played it.

Well, if you want, try out Playstation Plus for 3 months ($18) and see how you like it. Right now the instant game collection has

Uncharted Golden Abyss
Wipeout 2048
Gravity Rush
Jet Set Radio (PSN)
Mutant Blobs Attack (PSN)
Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP)

More games are said to be added this Tuesday as well, at least that's what's rumored. Not to mention if you have a PS3 you get twice the fun.

other games I'd recommend

Pinball Arcade (PSN)
Frobisher Says (PSN)
Ragnarok Odyssey
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Blazblue:Continuum Shift EX
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
Power Stone Collection (PSP)
Gungnir (PSP)
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (PSP)
Xenogears (PS1)

----

Then again, you can try out a good amount of demo's in the store already. I just highly recommend getting a 32GB memory card if possible. They're still kind of expensive but they've come down a bit from the original $100 price tag.

I already have a 32gb. They're still pricey here somewhere around the Pacific Ring of Fire. I'll probably get Ragnarok Odyssey and... MAVERICK HUNTER X. I didn't know Maverick was on PSN! I will buy it ASAP! Haha, big Rockman fan here.
