Love me for who I am not for who you want me to be.

Is it just me or are video games starting to get less interesting. I used to play video games for hours and hours and now I find myself actually not wanting to play. I just don't find the newer games very interesting. What is your view on this?

I eat my milk...

...without any milk.

I still have a lot of fun with them. I just have to shake it up a bit.

I'm listeni- Oh wait I don't give a -blam!- what you have to say.

You're probably just growing out of them.

  • 12.23.2012 10:23 AM PDT

The difference is probably more related to you and your life than the games themselves.

  • 12.23.2012 10:23 AM PDT

I'm your biggest fan!

OP's growing out of video games and thinks the entire industry is changing.

Yeah you guys are probably right. I just don't know how to get back into the grove of gaming.

Possibly.

But a big factor could be the fact that gaming has gone mainstream. There are plenty of games out there that don't have the passion, thought, and attention to detail that previous games have had. It's not an issue of Nostalgia, it's clear from playing some of the "Hottest" games that the spark just isn't there.

It's sorta like movies. You shouldn't let yourself down because they release crap action (crapction?) movies every other week, you just need to be able to spot the strong from the weak and focus your attention on that.

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

If you only play shooters, try an RPG. If you only play RTS, try a puzzle game. Just vary your experience.

Its called 'growing up'.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I've found that somewhat. I've stopped playing online multiplayer entirely because I just can't find any I really like anymore, and the single player games of this year have been everywhere from good enough like Absolution to absolute affront to gaming like AC3. There's some trends in gaming that make me feel like I'm going to get less and less involved as they get worse as well.

But, luckily, I can always play the games I do like.

If the current games don't interest you, the current games don't interest you. Luckily gaming is a skill set that doesn't atrophy very quickly, and if you have to take a break, then perhaps it's for the best. Just keep your eyes and ears open, you can come back whenever you like.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Most of them are becoming mainstream and losing all their identity, like Halo 4 for example.

I am experiencing this.

With Patches, the devs get lazy therefore less inclined to do good the first time cause they can patch things in on DLC or Patches. Games become less polished, therefore less fun when they should be better.

"Moooooooo"

Maybe you should stop playing AAA titles and try indie games or something. I dunno, just a thought.

Zombie games were my highest interest. Now they're my lowest, but for some reason I can't stop playing them.

If you are paying 60 or more on a game I think you should get your moneys worth. I know for sure I'm not the only one feeling like this because I know a lot of gamers that feel this way. Most of my friends have abandoned Xbox completely and have moved on to PC games.

If you don't like what I have to say then you didn't have to post anything and move on.

If you look at all his posts in other threads he is picking fights left and right. Just ignore him.

Play different games. There's so much variety out there and many have lots of thought put in them.

Don't be concerned with the release date or graphics. Old games are some of the best I've played. Play a genre your not use to also.

Try to find a completely new experience.

I see well that is very sad. All I really wanted was some feed back on other gamers views.
