As one of the mods said, it was revolutionary for its time. If you didn't play it during then, you wouldn't understand. Congrats on pointing out the flaws we all know about, it was still a hell of a game that let us truly play with our friends and experience gaming like never before.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lube.

I had fun in Halo 2.

That's all that really matters IMO

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

i never bothered using glitches (not that i was good at it) but i still had a good time. as for the campaign? call me a troll but Halo 2 also has the best ending in the series, hell best video game ending ever for that matter.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

The thing that decides my favourite campaign is replayability. For me, there is none on Halo 4, especially when it comes to its difficultly, Halo 2 could keep me entertained without friends for hours whilst I tried to beat Delta Halo on Legendary. And with friends? Attempting beat Tartarurus, using weapons - not by pressing a button - was the epitome of fun.

While story-wise Halo 2 may not be the best, I certainly found it to be in a higher tier than that of Halo 4 and Halo Reach. The antagonist in the prior (despite having an epic voice) was perhaps the worst antagonist yet. Even though we'll probably see him again, his motivation for hating humanity won't make him a "better" antagonist upon return.

UnitedBands.net

My band and artist networking/information site. Check it out!

I agree that it is the worst campaign of the the original trilogy. I however think the MP was the most fun, I didn't cheat, I honestly never had enough time to since I sucked at super jumping. And I wouldn't even know where to begin with modding.

And i'll even rephrase and say that the first 2 years of H2 were the best, it did start to die and get over saturated with cheaters. However in the heyday of clan matches and BTB, it was very enjoyable. Those are still to date the most competitive games I've ever played in the franchise. People actually used their mics, people were ok with driving the warthog instead of gunning, teamwork was prevalent.

As far as maps...beaver creek, gemini, relic, waterworks, terminal, coag, foundation, headlong, midship, Sanctuary, Turf(my all time favorite), Zanzibar. I loved those maps, it was a great mix between smaller maps and maps suitable for BTB.

In all honesty, I can't remember a single time that I ever complained about getting a certain map in those days. Where as today there are only a handful that are playable.

Your opinion =\= my opinion. The result? I don't care. The campaign was actually one of the best out of the series bullet sponges or not. The multiplayer was great. You didn't have to cheat to have fun. I loved super bouncing btw even if I wasn't good at it. I had no problem with bxr and didn't even know it existed.

It might not be as addicting now but it was revolutionary at the time in terms of multiplayer and graphics.

Halo 3 will always be my favorite halo, purely for the custom games. When i think of Halo i dont think of the matchmaking or campaign just the weekends i spent playing ghost busters and monster trucks with my friends.
Have you managed to find a Ghostbusters mode for H4? Was probably my favourite on H3, agree with you about just spending hours on them, so much fun.

"Stop having an opinion!"

He's not directly saying to stop having an opinion. The message he's trying to get out is to stop praising Halo 2 constantly.

Why not? If I enjoyed it who are you to say I shouldn't? People praise default Reach and I don't grief them for it.

Gist of this thread: Opinions that aren't OP's are bad.

I've been playing Halo since 2001 with CE and Halo 2 is still my favorite Halo game, only because of the multiplayer. I remember when CE fans hated Halo 2 when it came out, and guess what? I was one of those haters, but after playing for a while I realized that I'm having so much damn fun playing this game online.

I agree that the campaign sucked, I still think it's probably the most boring Halo campaign out there but the multiplayer made up for it. This was back when everyone on Xbox Live was willing to talk to others and play with strangers, you have no idea how easy it was to get a group of randoms and start some customs going. This is not so easy now since everyone isolates themselves to their friends and no one even communicates during matches anymore.

Mix this with excellent maps and fun gameplay and you got yourself an awesome online game to play. I also miss the competitive attitude gamers had back then, but at the same time they knew when to chill back, relax, and just have fun.

I still play Halo 2 till this day with my cousin and brother. It is by far my favorite game. There is nostalgia with that, but I still play it a lot even today. If they released it on Xbox again with live support again I would play it non stop.

Arbitor they outnumber us three to one!
Then it is an even fight.

Arbitor > Arbiter.
Arbitor = Rank above Arbiter.

A big thanks to kids that did this to 343 after they heard they get an infection game mode in halo 4 with no thought of normal playlists.

Out of all video games, Halo 2 had to have one of the worst ending ever.Halo 3's campaign was thousand times better and ODST's campaign is by far the best campaign of the franchise.
Lol, no.

I agree with what you're saying, but your stupid "my opinion is fact, anyone who disagrees is a fanboy" attitude kills it.

I still have Halo 2 and I think it has the best campaign of all time. And the second best multiplayer. I really love Halo 2's gameplay, story, maps, and campaign levels. I actually hate how it's infested with aim aim, magnetism and glitches, though.
