“To say more would spoil be it’s overall its a game that needs to be played.” - Aristotle

This is basicaly a long list of theories, give feedback, plz!!

I have an interesting theory you may not heard the second part of...

You, I assume, have heard of the 'Humans are Forruners' theory. My theory takes that one step further. It assumes that the Forrunners... modern day humans as well... are immune to what I like to call 'The Halo Blast' (THB). If you're playing Halo 1 in the library, the moniter lets slip the phrase (and I quote) " ... I'm happy some of THEM survived to repoduce...". What really irks me is the fact that he is speaking of one of two things... the Forrunners who were (in my opinion) immune to the blast but most were killed by the Flood, or the Flood themselves. What makes me further annoyed is the fact that he mumbles before that, so you don't know who he's talking about. I'm assuming (and yes, I know this is a very big IF), that the Forrunners made the blast knock out all other life that the Flood could prey on but themselves, got the Flood dormant (themselves sustaining major casualties), then migrated to Earth and melted down the rest of their ships to form 'The Ark', and called on The Moniters to integrade The Ark into the Halo's memory systems, and make it possible to remote-activate. But before the Forrunners could launch The Ark to finish the job and make sure the Flood died out completely (so that the Halos could begin re-population of life) 2 things happened that nobody counted on...

1- Severe conditions (any reason... Storms, wildlife, lack of food, ETC) forced the Humans to migrate away from The Ark and then the Humans slowly forgot where it was, and it's secrets.

2- Gravemind, who i believe was a Forrunner project in controling the Flood, became self-aware and began to get the Flood fully dormant so they could last for even longer.

Because of these two reasons, the Humans never put in the new command that they must be killed as well, to completely finish the job, the Covenant moved to this galaxy when they should have been wiped out by the second Halo blast, the Humans forgot their ancestry, and the Flood bunkered down and survived when they should have died out.

SOOOOO... My guess is the Humans are immune to the Halo blast, even though they can't remember it, and will survive if any of them attempt to activate a Halo to save the Galaxy.

Good guess??

Halo's Functions: (Based on Video games, bookes, and a few theories)

Functionality- To be activated to cleanse the galaxy of all organisms of SUFFICIENT BIOMASS that could satisfy a Flood form. After the Flood threat has been nutralized, the Halos reproduce life based on tissue and blood samples of all current races/animals/biengs in it's database, and transport them to their origional worlds.

Secondary Functionality- Keep track of all actions that go on about the ring so the next generation of Forrunners (humans) of that era can reclaim their identity and their knowledge

Third Functionality- Sustain a Forrunner-normal life support system to house all Air-breathing life. Keep the ring as normal to a planet as possible.

Fourth Functionality- Contain the Flood at all costs. Continue their study unless programmed otherwise.

This is the Halo's functionality branches, as best as I could find them. Note that the first functionality includes repoduction of those races. No evolution would be neccesary.

Gravemind:
1. Gravemind has, for the best of our knowledge, the recources of:
The Flood
Cortana
Regret
2401 Penitent Tangent (Thx Deathomen!)

2. Gravemind is the controler of the Flood- you knock him out, the Flood are still deadly, but they are much less orgonized than when GM is controlling them.

Now we delve into my theories... which are normaly right, but not always:

1. GM is believed, by me, to be a Flood-Machine hybrid, that was built by the Forrunners (HUMANS) to be used to herd all the Flood to the Halos, to maroon them so they could be studied. Then GM slowly began to become self-aware (Note: He was not fully self-aware until the Forrunners made it to Earth, and some years after that- see past pages, 'Lord Shnakie'), and that led up to the activation of the Halos, and the rest of the story (again, see past pages, under name 'Lord Shnakie').

And while we're on that page, let me shove out some more assorted theories...

The Bible of Halo.

Just a few phrases that come so close/are exact to the bible it creeps me out...

-The ARK of the COVENANT
-God made the FLOOD and promised never to do it again
- 'And when the Angels bred with the children of earth, the true heroes of old were made, and they had abilities beyond all else'- SPARTANS!?!?!
-Halos and the whole 'angelic' idea
-The Ark= Noah's ark... makes all life again, maybe?

I have more... but I just want to find out more about how ppl react to this, for the moment.

ANY INSITE INTO 'The Bible of Halo' WOULD BE APRECIATED! I HAVE LITTLE IDEA WHAT IT COULD EVEN MEAN!!

Cortana- Just thought about it, but, by the end of Halo 2, Cortana is about 4 years old, and at 7 she 'thinks' herself to death, because she is a 'smart' AI. By accepting all of the info from GM, Halo, and Delta Halo, she shut her memory down so far, she might be on the verge of her 7 year point!! What will happen because of this? Feedback, plz.

Alpha Halo- Activating the Ark may save the entire human race. Remember, Alpha Halo was destroyed. If Earth is in the path of Alpha Halo, the entire rest of the Galaxy would have been destroyed, without Earth. The only problematic point is, we don't know what sections Alpha Halo's range took! We can't predict if it was the Earth knock-out Halo or not! Feedback, plz.

Colonel Ackerson- We all know that Colonel Ackerson has hated Dr. Halsey for coming up with the SPARTAN program before he could finish his Supersoldier project. What if he decided to try and get his revenge? If he had warned the Covies about the fight at Sigma Octanus, then he could have told them to attach the crystal to the Pillar of Autumn to get the coordinates to several worlds. It seems unlikely that he would go this far... but it led them to Reach, and killed, as he said SO forcefully... ALL of the SPARTANS.... He is diluted enough to do it. What if Ackerson is a betrayer?

Dr. Halsey and Kelly- Most theories are that these two unlikely people decided to go off and try to create SPARTAN IIIs. I have a different theory- I think they are going to try to stop Colonel Ackerson. I believe that these two are off on their way to find out about Ackerson's plans, as Dr. Halsey had infiltrated his computer on Reach in CASTLE base and found out about them. This is still a mystery, but I think it is a good theory. Why would they try to go off and train SPARTAN IIIs if they would take years to do it? Unless Mendez came through with the next group... which is highly unlikely concidering the war.

SPARTAN IIIs- I believe that the secret project that Ackerson is working on is the SPARTAN IIIs. Their prime 2 missions would be:
-Destroy all Covenant and stop them from activating the Ark. Make Colonel Ackerson look like a hero.
-Kill all Halsey-made SPARTANS on contact.
I think these guys are gunna be fighing the covies alongside MC, but also trying to kill him- it would be quite interesting, try killing something with better everything than you... even armor and shields... it would be like trying to kill a JUGGERNAUT on FULL POWER... interesting... hopefully Halsey and Kelly can stop Ackerson, if this is his secret project.

erm...

1: the "red monitor" is 2401 Penitent Tangent.

2: and i quote Shishka: "the books are there to complement the games, not the other way around." The Games tell the Story of MC, and now the Arbitor, to expect other aspects, like Halsey, Ackerson, and more Spartans seems a bit Far-Fetched to me.

3: The Halo Bible is something that Bungie created before they even started making the games.

4: if the humans are the forerunner and immune to the blast then why would the Halos be the forerunner's last line of defense (which according to bungie they were) instead of using them right off to save their race and kill the flood, remember there's no mention of other sentient life other than the forerunners, so chances are, the forerunners were the only "smart" species out there.

Sentient life is anything with a nervous system and SUFFICIENT BIOMASS to satisfy the Flood. The Forrunners could have been the only members of that time... or there could have been others...

To answer you're question, they did use it pretty soon- as soon as they figured out that they couldn't re-control the Flood they began missions to activate them. The only problem was, they kept losing, so it took about 10-20 years to finally activate them. The Forrunners also would have used the Halos to destroy themselves, after re-containing the Flood forms and hybernateing them. (According to my theory)

And on the 'Other Spartans' Theory, I'm saying that they would be your enemies, not your allies. And the other SPARTAN IIs were proven to be true in the books.
